Rumours pertaining to the Knights Lorraine and a small, expanding community to the south begin to circulate across Athera. If one were to partake in such seemingly frivolous sessions of gossip, they would ascertain that the Order was growing in clout and learn of their burgeoning presence in the Ankulosian Peninsula ...

Stepping out of his personal coffers, the newly legitimized Richard de Bar, Grand Master of the pious Order of Saint Amyas, exhales sharply as he surveys the region encompassing him. His typical scowl seems to deepen and he appears to be adrift in speculation. The Grand Master mounts his horse briskly, taking hold of the reigns. With pursed lips and heels dug into the saddle’s stirrups, he trods off through the campsite replete with soldiers accompanied by their wives and children. Civilians and skilled craftsmen dart about tending to the needs of the order-men. Richard is answered with stoic salutes and stern expressions as he nears his men. Waving them off, he continues on whilst deliberating various issues one in his position is burdened with.

Soon, his mounted officers, among them Ser Sascha de Saltpans and the former baron, Corbett VanCleef, begin pursuing him and dogged resoluteness becomes apparent on the young commander’s features. Reaching a crudely-made podium hastily prepared for him, Richard slips off his horse with exercised grace and struts onto the dais. All who reside in the campground speedily throng toward him as if to indicate their deference. To answer their anticipatory cognition, the Grand Master met their gazes with a steely visage, clearing his throat, before addressing the Order men with a booming voice.

“Zealous men and women of the Lorraine Cross, you might be pondering why exactly I have gathered you here on this morrow … Well, it is of the utmost importance and concerns you all. I, Richard de Bar, have conceived a vision from those patron saints that bless our beloved order. Lucien, Amyas, and Adrian have came to me in my dream, and  bid for me to complete an immensely important task.” The crowd’s eyes widen, lips parting to produce gasps. The Amyas officers stand below, adjacent to the Grand Master. “We shall build a holy city to spread our ideals and for our people to preside over. In commemoration of Aldersberg and its fertile, lush lands, I will name this metropolis after its first lord, Saint Adrian.” Elevating his chin, Richard bangs a gauntlet against his armor-clad chest, a grin sculpted on his thin lips. “Now, construction will ensue! Pray, so that Adrianople may be erected. With God’s favour!

The assembly proclaim their glee with a blaring chant of "With God's favour!" and pumped fists. Descending from the platform, Richard offers a smirk to those near him, remarking simply, “And so, it begins.”

With those four words said, couriers embark across the realm, pinning flyers and applications to the respective noticeboards, distributing notices to those interested in the city of Petrus as well as the townships of Raev and Aldersberg. All of these notices bear a stamped Cross of Lorraine, and a similar message:

“Hail to thee, the Order of Saint Amyas seeks skilled artisans, craftsmen, and architects to assist in the construction of Adrianople. Travel south to the peninsula of Ankulos to partake and you shall be rewarded duly! Fame, wealth, glory, and the Seven Skies will all be yours!”

The rhythmic, thundering clamour of hammers against anvils resound over the plains of the land newly proclaimed Adrianople, as the hard-working Order men work without rest at fortifying the area. Trees are felled and sawn into planks for crude palisades, carts loaded with ores are hauled and wheeled in from the distant mines, and tools and blades are forged in several belching smelters. Sascha de Saltpans overlooks the men at work, his arms crossed, a stoic expression on his face. He pinches a bead of sweat from his brow, overlooking the construction, before he turns to gaze at the rising sun - a sign from god.

The humble fort before them was to one day become a sprawling holy city, with God's favour.

"We'll have better protection than what any other city has to offer, that's confirmed." Corbett states to some of the footmen and initiates, folding his arms and glancing around the construction of Adrianople.

Jarvik hopes for some actual images of the township, suspicious that it might damage his eyes as much as the other settlements he has seen on the map so far.
