Definitions

 

These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!

 

What is roleplaying?: - Stepping into the skin of a character you have made, living their life and making decisions as you believe they would.

 

What’s metagaming?: - Applying outside knowledge to your RP character, such as knowing someones name before they tell you it, or knowing someone has broken a law and arresting them, after they told you so out of character.

 

What’s powergaming?: - Making your character more powerful than they should inherently be. For example, saying your character killed someone with a sword slash without them being able to defend it.

 

In-Character Information

 

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that you follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

How old are they?: - 63

 

Give us a highlight of their past, What life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, ect. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): -

 Detri’ote was born in a small home in the forests, miles away from any large civilization. His parents lived with him and taught him ways of survival over the years as he grew. However, his parents did tend to travel days to and from Darkhaven, an unknown place to detri'ote, when their family grew in need of supplies.

 

One day, the parents left and were killed by human criminals on their journey to get supplies, Detri’ote was not aware of this at the time. He then realized that his parents would not be returning after 2 weeks as they never took this long.

 

He used the tools and supplies that were left behind along with the knowledge he had gained from his parents to survive as long as possible. When food became scarce he began to hunt with a bow only when he needed the food.

 

Over the years curiosity grew more and more curious as to where his parents had gone. At the age of 24 he left the house and went on a journey to find the place where his parents had gone to find acquire these supplies.

 

Finally, he discovers what he had been looking for (or at least thinks), a city known as Annil'sul. He has a hard time socializing but is still able to acquire much needed supplies to sustain himself out in the forest.

 

To this day Detri’ote lives in the new land, known as Athera. Some day he hopes that he will maybe see his parents there, or perhaps become a guard of Mali'ame, or hunter, he enjoys the bow.

 

 

What are they like? (personality): - Detri'ote grew up without more modern amenities and thus, is rather resourceful. The world around Detri'ote amazed and inspires him, and sparks a certain curiosity that Detri'ote is enthralled by. He does not do well socializing with others, and for that reason he does not strive to make relationships with others.

 

What are their ambitions?: - To one day find his parents and to have a new life civilization, perhaps hunt or become a guard of Mali'ame.

 

Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): - 

Skills: Hunting and gathering. Archery.

 Weaknesses: Lacks good communication skills, stutters before talking due to thinking of what to say. Not skilled with traditional swords.

Give us a description of how they look?: - Pale for a wood elf, quite skinny.
