What was Haelphon? The tree lords?(An Aegis group) And how do they relate to druidism?

Treelord was a position Native gave out because Haelphon was good at building trees.

I don't think anyone knows what Haelphon was. He used many, many different archetypes besides druidism.

I saw him grow a 100ft tall tree magically bro, the treelords must of had some magic pew-pews relating to nature and/or possibly the aspects.

tbh it was because he was a GM, a normal player couldn't do any of that.

I do not remember Haelphon ever being a druid at the time. He was only the tree lord and High Prince of Malinor from what I remember.

He wasn't a druid, and he would say as much. Yet, he would use nature magic, lightning evocation, even some clerical abilities. As Nug said it was mostly because he was a GM.

He was a Drucleroid Mage. Technically shouldn't have existed, but he was a GM, so it was just a thing that got allowed.

Is Druidic Shapeshifting a forgotten art, essentially unlearnable? Also, is it Illusion magic that changes your form, or actual physical shapeshifting that changes your biological makeup?

Shapeshifting is a hidden secret in the Order and very few druids know it exist, let alone are able to use it. It is very rarely taught, and when it is, it is to those who have shown complete and devout loyalty to the Order over their career as a druid. I guess you could say in fewer words, "druids who have earned it." Shapeshifting is a complete shift from humanoid to animal form and is not illusion by any means.

I assume the Druid retains their memory and sentience for obvious reasons.

Can a Druid who has knowledge of Shapeshifting shift into the form of any animal, or is it their totem animal, or is there some process to learn certain animal's forms? If any of this information is classified or secret, I don't mind not being told.

Edit: Actually, it can't be their totem, I just realized that after typing it. I'm dumb.

A shapeshifting druid may only shift into one animal form throughout his or her entire life as the lore stands currently. Whether it be a chipmunk or horse, the individual shapeshifter will take on the same form every time he or her shifts.

Is this form a conscious choice, or up to some other variable?

The animal is chosen by the shapeshifter and is picked during the process of learning shapeshifting. It's similar to imprinting - the shifter will mock the form of the chosen animal.

Ok, thanks for the information!

You're welcome! The lore is publicly available (as it is how we had to get it approved), so we don't really mind sharing this info OOC. For any other questions, you can dig up the lore on the forums somewhere I'm sure, or just ask here.
