Mali'aheral of Haelun'or,

 

It has come to the attention of the Silver Council of Blessed Haelun'or that the elf by the name of Phaedrus, much unlike most of his kin, may hold remarkable intellect, judgement decisions and other desirable characteristics normally reserved to describe mali'aheral alone.

 

Indeed, so surprising is it that he holds not just one but a multitude of these mali'aheral-like characteristics that the Silver Council has called a thorough investigation into the elf. For it is either a great scientific discovery that a wood elf can be so desirable or an indication of some other more sinister plot at work— Perhaps he is a high elf who is so deranged that he paints his face brown every day, lliran.

 

The investigation into the questionable desirability of the mali'ame begins.

By the will of the Silver Council, all members of the ETHIC are hereby requested to conduct an extensive investigation of Phaedrus into the lifestyle, habits, phobias, demeanour, clothing choices, sexual preferences of the elf, in addition to his eye colour, hair colour, tooth quality (including the presence of any caries), hair quality (being sure to mention overall sheen) and finally any and all relevant medical concerns to do with the elf in question (in particular any and all communicable diseases must be recorded).

As Phaedrus reads the new notice further and further, his brow creases into a deeper and deeper furrow. Shaking his head absently as he continues, he merely mutters to himself, "I don't understand..."

Gi lets out a heavy sigh, hiding his head in his hands.

 

"I have absolutely no doubts whatsoever now, that Kalenz is as mentally unstable as a floating bridge... Phaedrus is a Dedicant of the Druidic Order, and that is not a trait commonly found in Mali'Aheral...And to begin an investigation as ludicrous as this? Ha! He really needs to be removed from power if his mind is so befuddled that he believes in things so stupidly stupid, that the term stupid isn't stupid enough to describe it...Remarkable intellect...Ha!..."

 

He trails off as he bursts into uncontrollable laughter. Not a laughter of pure hysterical origins, but that of a mixture of humour and worry. The Archdruid shakes his head with disapproval as he struggles to regain his composure.

Elorna stares at the notice for several minutes, unmoving. Eventually anyone close enough would hear a very faintly murmered, "What."

 

 

 

Later in the day when Elorna has composed herself, she sends a phoenix flying up to the high elven district, bearing a letter privately to Kalenz.

"Sohaer Kalenz,

 

I request to speak to you before you proceed with any investigation of the Annilir Phaedrus. On a personal level it seems quite contrary to me that you would reward a man who has saved your life and worked with dedication and devotion to the furtherance of Haelun'or and protection of this cihi with such a violation of privacy and respect. Professionally, as the Okarir'ame I should be notified before investigations of any Mali'ame are ordered. I can assure you that Phaedrus is of pure Mali'ame blood and continuing on this course without my or his own consent will be ultimately destructive to the unity and strength within Haelun'or.

"Hmmm. It seems Uradir has taken an interest in the elf. Maybe this will allow him to finally understand a little more about his cousins. Regardless, this might be the first non-violent investigation that Uradir has lead. Maybe he isn't as lost as one had thought." Iatrilemar trails off in thought.
