What do you think the server will be like? - Enchanting, really. I spent a good hour or two just flying around the map in awe. I’m sure being an actual part of the world will be thoroughly engrossing.

Definitions

 

These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!

 

What is roleplaying?: - The taking on of a fictional character’s life and living it out as they would, as if you were they themselves.

 

What’s metagaming?: - The use of OOC knowledge to protect or advance one’s character in ways that would not occur naturally to the them. Essentially, being lame.

 

What’s powergaming?: - Playing a character as though he or she is the only character there ever needs to be, i.e. trying to become the biggest, baddest, most-untouchable lout around.

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that you follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

Give us a highlight of their past, What life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, ect. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): - Hyacinthe grew up beneath Godfrey’s Peaks with his human mother, who enjoyed cooking. His father was an elf and left him and his mother in his youth, causing his mother to grow rather attached to Hyacinthe. While he was gathering mushrooms in a nearby cave for one of her stews, the roof collapsed, trapping him inside the cave for two years until another cave-in opened an exit big enough for him to pry himself out of. He managed to survive in the darkness of that cave off of the many mushrooms that grew there, and from a small reserve of underground water. Now freed, he aims to search for his mother who has no doubt either succumbed to terrible grief or escaped life entirely.

 

What are they like? (personality): - Hyacinthe is a remarkably quiet individual as a result of having lived in silence for two years, but before then he enjoyed joking around, and was carefree and light-hearted. Since leaving the cave, he’s grown more paranoid of his surroundings, but not to the extent that’s he’s afraid to go anywhere, rather he’s become increasingly aware of things that might lead to him being entombed in a cave again, and so he avoids caves, caverns, and the like almost always. He’s not particularly fond of mushrooms anymore, either.

 

What are their ambitions?: - Before the cave, Hyacinthe mostly tended to his mother’s garden, of which she used for ingredients in teas and different foods. He had always wanted to have a garden of his own, filled with every kind of flower that grew in Athera, though he seriously doubted he’d be able to travel to the far reaches of the realm to acquire each and every plant. This is still a great desire of his, and if he is unable to reach his mother again, the journey may be his only solace. But at times he’s thought of wandering into the forest of Adrallan to see for himself how true the rumors of powerful, mind-erasing forces there are, and in half-hope of forgetting the two years spent in that dark cave.

 

Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): - Hyacinthe possess exceptional foraging and survival capabilities. Also worthy of note is the magnitude of his perception of surrounding areas; his sense of direction never fails him, and it is not often that he finds himself lost or in a precarious way. Unfortunately, as he spent most of his youth in his mother’s garden, he never took the time to learn how to cook for himself, which he believes is something that needs remedying right away. He feels that he’s been a bit left behind in the times, so he’s wary when speaking to others, as he fears they are far more informed than him.

 

Give us a description of how they look?: - Hyacinthe has dark eyes, and blonde hair that has de-saturated into a dull grey as a result of being hidden from the sun for so long. He’s of a slender build, average height for an Adunian, but physically adept to survive alone in the wilderness.

• Your biography is a little short. A good rule of thumb is to have it about two nicely sized paragraphs.
• Adunian is not a half elf. Adunian is a human subrace and culture like halflings that just happen to be part elf. While a half elf is the offspring of an elf and a human. • Why didn't his mother try to save him since she seemed rather attached to him? Why did your character try not to leave the cave?
• Unless your character's mother is actually played on the server, finding her is an impossible ambition. Also, erasing your memory is not a good goal as it would completely delete the character's personality and history that you just made.
