The Doomed Town Of Portus

Axulon stopping at the treeline "Where are we going Jakon?"

 

Jakon looking back at Axulon "It's fine no where dangerous come on now, or are you to scared?"

 

Pouting responding as he rushes back up to Jakon who's a few feet into the forest stammering "I-I-I'm not scared at all!  Who's the one who couldn't stick his hand into that spider pit anyway huh?"

 

Snickering at the response"Oh please that wasn't a test of courage that was a test of how stupid you are."

 

They would continue making their way deeper into the forest following the cobble path as the tall bare trees grow thicker and thicker.  The path beginning to turn and bend as they continue their journey stopping looking around to realize the path was gone.  Axulon looking to Jakon in fear "Where is the path it was right here!"  ​Jakon rushes back hoping to find the path. Axulon struggling to keep up.  As they continue to run confused through the forest the sky will begin to pulsate a crimson red as clouds continue to roll in as the branches overhead seem to move and extend covering the sky above leaving only streams of the crimson red to pulsate through spaces between the branches.

 

As they stop at a clearing they hear a shrilly scream as a greenish-blue light charges at them disappearing inches from their bodies frozen in fear.  Compelled to start walking forward as though someone has strung them up on strings and force them to enter the clearing with every blink ghostly structures appear and disappear ghostly figures standing in every doorway still and lifeless faces expressing fear.

 

Axulon shaking as he continues walking forward "Where are we Jakon?  I don't like this place I'm scared."

 

Jakon remaining silent as they enter what looks like a monastery

 

In the middle of the room stand four men hoods dropped over their faces as they look up towards the two boys green smoke exiting the corner of their mouths talking in unison "You've been chosen by The One.  You will give your lives for our cause and help release him."

 

The boys kneeling down on both knees as the four walk towards them in unison stand over the boys surrounding them beginning to chant lines of demonic words.  The ground at their feet forming a glowing red circle as the boys seem to hunch over as though a force presses down on them.  In their heads the words 'You have been chosen' constantly repeating as the ring pulsates faster and faster glowing brighter with each pulse.  As they lose consciousness the last thing they seeing is a tall slim black figure of shadow and smoke standing in front of them with gleaming silver eyes.

 

Awaking in their beds the boys stand up sweating as though it had all been a nightmare, they would look each other in the eye and back around the room.  "Di-Did you have the same nightmare as I did?"  he would ask Jakon who would respond "Nightmare?" acting as though nothing ever happened.  Jakon would begin to walk through the room door exiting the house while Axulon follows asking him "You were there with me, you were there!  We were in the forest there were those cultists!  That town with frozen people with fear in their eyes!"  As they reach the town center a pillar towering in the middle.  As Axulon looks towards it he sees a flash of silver as both Jakon's and his eyes glass over with a silver tint making their way to the base of the tower against their will.  Axulon still conscious mentally but not physically as he looks at all the buildings around him.  Looking exactly the same as the town in the forest.  As they touch the base of the pillar the top bursts open rock spewing down on the people in the town center.  A screeching sound piercing the air with the words 'You have been chosen!' Black smoke tumbling out the top as fear instills in everyone in the town as people start to run and panic as the smoke grabs those frozen in fear as they turn to stone and crumble into black smoke.
