The King’s Council

The Kings Council of Renatus is the advising body of nobles and citizens of Renatus formed to help administrate the realm alongside advising the ruling monarchs, the any man or woman can be seated on the Council be or peasant or prince, noble man or common.

 

The Crown

The reigning King and Queen of Renatus head the council, having the final say in most matters regarding Kingdom policy, law and international affairs, among many others. The King and Queen have the right to appoint and dismiss new councillors on their council and overrule decisions made in the past and ones made by their councillors.

 

The First Justiciar

The champion of justice in the Kingdom of Renatus, the First Justiciar represents the law in all instances. The First Justiciar is responsible for instituting new laws and upholding the existing ones, acting as a judge in many cases of high law infringement. The First Justiciar is also charged with the formation and maintaining of the King’s Hand, an inquisitorial order charged with upholding the King’s Law.

 

The First Seneschal

The warden of the nobility of Renatus, the First Seneschal is tasked with maintaining the nobility and the upkeep of all land, civil and monetary matters. He is charged with keeping the records of all nobility, their landholdings, lineage and titles, as well as tasked with handling those petitioning their right to become nobility and claim lands. He is also charged with hosting and leading the Landsmeet, held in the Angren Citadel regularly. Unlike the Justiciar, the First Seneschal is charged with overseeing and handling most civil disputes (i.e. such as the Blackwell Incident). He has the right to appoint at most two Seneschals, one per Teyrnir.

 

The First Commander

The commander of Renatian armies, the First Commander takes the position as chief strategist and commandant of the Renatian army, including levies, in times of war. He is in charge of establishing guard forces and organising the various militaries throughout Renatus, as well as an efficient and infallible military system. The First Commander is charged with forming the King’s Army, answerable only to him and the King of Renatus. This army does not include the nobility’s levies.

 

The First Enchanter

The leader in arcane studies and science within the Kingdom. The First Enchanter is the King’s primary advisor in matters of magic and science. The First Enchanter is tasked with the education and acquiring of magical and scientific knowledge, advancing the Kingdom’s knowledge on these matters, furthering it’s abilities to utilize as well as combat powers, both magical and scientific. The First Enchanter is charged with the formation and maintaining of the Renatian Circle of Magi, in order to further advance the Kingdom’s magical potential and cull the threat of dark powers.

 

The First Vizier(s)

The chiefest advisors of the King within the realm. Numerous viziers may be added at the King’s discretion, without being granted specific positions or tasks. Their advice is respected, their counsel heard, the First Viziers are tasked with providing the King with as much guidance as he requires, as well as providing unconditional support for the other greater councilors.
