A Grand Fishing Trip!

It was the day in Gimblewood before the great festival, a night of calm before the storm of bigg'un partygoers and halfling children waddled about the village alongside the grown halflings to enjoy a full day and night of ale, shogs, and other festivities. The halflings that were still awake sat in Pippin's burrow late at night, deciding to take the Pumpkin Lord's Revenge out for a spin. They gathered up their canoes, fishing rods, and packed their picnic supplies, before heading out south to the tip of the island at Pumpkin Husk Docks! Soon they were sailing out of Brandywater Bay and far into the ocean. Finding themselves at a distant chain of strange islands, they get out and begin to fish.

After a good few hours of fishing off the boat, they decide to take their catches and pitch a good picnic spot. Fumble Willowbottom, Pippin Mousiki, Amell Clearwater, and Folgo Featherfoot clamber into their canoes!

The halflings beach on a strange plains, very different from their hilly fields. Before them stands a massive creature, they dub a "Horny Cow" because everyone knows that land rhinocerouses don't exist, only sea rhinos!

After the Horny Cow (really a Rhino) chases them off, they hop into their canoes and sail out to a shoreline island, perfect for setting up their picnic. Amell and Folgo set up the firepit while Fumble and Pippin take the cauldron out of the storage canoe.

 

After putting their catches and some stored taters into the cauldron, Fumble and Pippin go about setting the towels, umbrella, and picnic table out. The halflings enjoy some nice wine and ale, as well as Amell's famous fish n' taters!

After feasting on their new picnic grounds, Folgo decides he is feeling a little sick from their journey and goes off to sleep under the umbrella while the others fish for some catfish!

Amell has a big pile of assorted fish while Fumble dives down to hand fish fer pesky cat fishies! After Pippin gets no luck with his rod the group decides to explore the shoreline in their canoes!

After venturing a little further from shore than they planned to the halflings stumble upon a massive circular object. Fumble thinks its the moon,as it appears to be cheese floating on the ocean. He philosophies that the moon comes here every day when it goes down and the sun comes up! Pippin and Amell think it must be some heavenly orb sent from the Harvest Spirits!

Pippin decides to test the Mousiki Family Luck and dive deep under the "moon"/"Orb". A massive squid swims up and drags the poor lad back towards Gimblewood, afeared Fumble and Amell return to the ship and sail off back home!It is when they pull into Brandywater Bay that they realize they forgot Folgo Featherfoot tanning on the beach...
