A Thesis on Charity

[!] Deacon Jude walks into his small room and makes his way over to a small spruce pew in the corner of his room. Jude then says his evening prayers and stands. He goes over to his desk where he sits and does a reflection on his day. As he sits he closes his eyes, remembering some charity work he had done. He then grabs his quill and dips it into his blue marble inkwell and begins to write. He coughs as he begins to scribble the thesis.

Charity, simply stated is to help those who are in need of assistance. We do charity because God has told us that it is an important part of our ministry on earth. However, we have this contorted idea that we need to charity for our image as well. Many people in this age do charity in order to self-improve their image. We become so obsessed about what people think about us that we often forget that we are doing charity to fulfill God’s will and help those who are in need of our assistance. We need to realize that God wants us to help the poor and meek of the earth. He wants us to treat them as our brothers and sisters in faith. There is a saying my father used to say to me, ‘One act of love means more than an infinite amount of selfish acts of charity.’ I often think upon this saying when I do my works of charity because it makes me realize that I am not here for myself, I am here for Gods children and I am here to help those who are in need of love in their lives. We, as Gods servants, are called to love everyone, even those who seek to kill you. We need no love those who have nothing to offer to us but love its self. Love is a strong and priceless thing, so when I see a smile on the face of those I am helping, I would not trade it for anything in the world. Well, I have been very ill these last few weeks but I have done as much charity as I can. I try to do charity whenever I am able. Now I will leave you on this one thought. Do you strive to help those who are in need of assistance every day?

Creator Bless You All,

Deacon Jude

[!] Another part is written on the back of the paper: I wanted to share some information with all of my followers; I will be entering the monastery soon in order to focus on my writings and such. If you so wish, I would love to speak with any of you wonderful people about anything that is happening in your life. Also, a side note, the Church of the Canon is in need of supplies for the monastery, should you be so compelled to donate, you may speak to his Holiness Daniel I about where to drop off the supplies, they are greatly needed.

[!] The note is then sealed with the mark of a Scroll on the parchment. It would soon fall into your hands and you would begin to read.

Simon de Montfort smiles while reading the document, "The man has wise words to share on St. Amyas's favor. May Amyas bless those less fortunate than I."
