Eight-Legged Intruders

The construction of the new kingdom arena issued by Grand King Balek Irongut was well underway. Workers of all social classes spent tireless hours chiseling out and expanding the underground cavern, the sound of hammers striking stone resonated from within the great city. But then, out of the blue, a loud blast could be heard, the pillars of the city shaking violently as the echo boomed out the main gate...

 

Thousands upon thousands of angry, disgusting spiders spilled forth from a large gash in the wall, the workers running for their lives. Guards were immediately summoned to push back the flow of vermin, but to little avail. The lines of legionnaires moved back further and further, unable to keep them at bay. As they neared the entrance to the main square, the Grand Marshal ordered the tunnels to be sealed immediately, to prevent the further contamination. Rubble and various junk was quickly moved from the square, and stuffed into the tunnel, the spiders pushing hard against the make-shift barricades. The arching entryway is collapsed, sealing off the tunnels for good.

 

Construction had been delayed, dwarven lives lost in the invasion. The citizens of Kal'Karaad must now plan their next move, in order to rid this menace, to restore the hall below. One can only speculate as to what it will take...
