Greetings Leader and welcome to the first full-functional prototype of Defcon, currently running on DefOS 1.0. In this simulator you will compete against other leaders to establish dominance of your nation over the world, leaving your foes in the dust and your “allies” under your iron fist.

In this game your first duty is to select a nation which you wish to represent. Following up as soon as all nation leaders have logged their respective nation, you will be secretly given a number of objectives of which you may choose one. Choose wisely and be aware, it may cross ambitions and goals of the other leaders. The first to achieve his objective wins this simulation.

Before we go into choosing a nation, let me explain the basic functionalities of some aspects.

Your nation fields following “resources”:

1. Nuclear Power

 

It should be quite clear what it means. Each point of nuclear power is capable of destroying five points of a chosen resource of a targeted nation. Be careful, as it is expensive to attain additional nuclear power.

 

2. Military Power

 

No nation in the world has no army. Military power represents the amount of available armed forces which you may deploy all across the globe. It allows you to conquer other nations as well to obtain their resources, but be aware that it weakens your military power and may give opportunity to other nations to attack you!

 

3. Economic Power

 

Economic Power accumulates over turns and can be used to purchase Military Power or Nuclear Power. It may also get used in trades with other nations. Please be aware, the higher your military power, the less economic power you will obtain per turn!

 

4. Resources Power

 

Resources Power is the second aspect and accumulates over turns as well and can be used to purchase Military Power or Nuclear Power. It can be traded too. At a very high expense of Resources Power you may purchase additional nuclear weapons, improve your economic power or obtain additional military personnel, as mentioned above. Choose wisely how to use your scarce resources!

 

Overview:

 

1 NP destroys 5 y of nation x.

1 NP costs 10 RP and 10 EP. No upkeep.

For first research: 20 RP and 20 EP.

 

For attacking and “conquering” other nations: Attacking MP - Defending MP. If targeted nation has lost three turns in a row, it will become occupied and EP and RP income flows to your nation.

1 MP costs 2 RP and 1 EP + 1 EP upkeep.

 

+1 EP upgrade costs 5 EP and 5 RP.

 

+1 RP upgrade costs 10 EP and 8 RP

As perhaps mentioned, the game runs by turns, decided by the game system (game host). It will usually wait for everyone’s turn, but if idleness for too long steps in, the next turn will just begin. The absent participant will of course receive all EP and RP points from the previous round, should he return.

 

Alliances and pacts may freely be chosen. Whether a nation leader wishes to share his secret goal with his… allies, is up to him. But remember, there can only be ONE winner.

Any other nations are available and may be chosen, but their power points have to be established by the system first. No complaints.

Should it not be entirely clear, this is not a nation FRP in that sense, moreso of a strategy and "number manipulation" game as HBrules above noted.
