Samoblivion 532 Share Posted April 22, 2015 So, in case any ME fans haven't heard a bunch of preview material for the next Mass Effect game for an EA player opinion think tank. While none of this has been confirmed as ME4's official story the content of the leaks is interesting and worthy of discussion by fans. So far none of the details spoil plot twists or plot points - all the details appear to be in the early planning stage and there is no ending detail revealed. Abridged Details, gained from think tank leaks and fans filling in the gaps in a plausible manner (Spoiler Lite): In ME4 the player is propelled to the world of the Helios Cluster in the Andromeda galaxy. During the events of ME3 and the Reaper War, the Systems Alliance and numerous other Milky Way species band together to create a fleet of Arks to ensure galactic civilizations survival should Shepherd fail to halt the Reaper onslaught. How the Arks actually reach Andromeda is unrevealed but it is suggested from the details that the Arks have travelled for hundreds if not thousands of years with their crews and refugees in cryosleep or acting as generational crews. You play as a 'Pathfinder', captain of the scout ship 'Tempest' designed to explore this strange new galaxy in order to find a new home for Humanity and the minority of Milky Way aliens who managed to join the Arks. Gameplay will include scouting dozens of systems in order to find habitable planets to place colonies on as well as resource bases to rebuild civilization. After a short time it becomes clear that this galaxy is also inhabited by numerous intelligent species with their own societies who will act very differently to the arriving Milky Way survivors, possibly leading to conflict as some see the Arks as an invasion fleet. The main story will revolve around establishing a new home for your peoples in Andromeda as well as navigating Andromedan galactic politics and mythology - a major plotline will be the investigation of an extinct race called the 'Remnant', which sounds quite similar to ME1's investigation of the Protheans. There will be around 7 squad members - fewer than the last games but with more resources dedicated to writing them as well as making them organically react to the decisions you make as the Milky Way peoples settle in Andromeda. An example given is a Krogan squad member called 'Drak' taking radically different actions later in the game depending on your handling of a side quest involving one of the only Krogan ships in the Ark fleet. Dialogue is also described as being more in depth than the last two ME outings, with increased development resources being used on making dialogue mechanics more realistic, whatever that means. Misc Details: Andromeda appears to be more lawless than the Milky Way, with frequent mention of 'Outlaws' in a few of the leaked documents. One of the new Andromeda races seems to be named 'the Khet' and they are mentioned to 'patrol' areas near where the player starts. THE MAKO IS BACK. KarmaDelta 969 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Honestly, I am still upset over ME3's ending. I know I know, it's been a few years. I love the series, and the way it ended was just.... it was just like when LoTC tried to bring back VAs, it just didnt work. I will give this a try though, see if it redeems itself, since Mass Effect will always have a place in my heart as one of my most favorite sci fi games, aside from Star Wars obviously..... along with hopefully a child with my main bae Liara. Samoblivion 532 Author Share Posted April 22, 2015 I'm still broke up about the ME3 ending too, but if the leak's to be believed it circumvents the issues of the endings by having the protagonists or the protagonists' ancestors pretty damn far away from the repurcussions of the RGB endings. It's sort of like a clean slate. I'm kind of getting a BSG or Homeworld vibe from it as well - leading refugees from everything they knew before to find a new home in the great unknown. Heck, even if centuries have passed though I'm betting we'll see Liara in some form or another - Asari live for about a thousand years and she's only a hundred and something. I mean come on, I know we were all wandering what planet that was. Maybe that blast did more than just knock out their systems and trashed them? I for one hope so, cause I just want to see my seed man, I need it to complete my Shepard experience. I MEAN IT GOD DAMN IT. I AT LEAST NEED WREX OR GRUNT TO WATCH OVER THE CHILD WHEN LIARA IS BUSY, SWEET DAMN I NEED THIS, PLEASE BIOWARE. I NEED CLOSURE. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am STILL waiting for news about DA:I Warden DLC so I could finally see what my Origin character has done and how him, my bae Morrigan, and my son react to each other. I've gotta keep it alive.
