Avatar Resolution

Why every time when I set a new avatar it changes the resolution?

 

For example:

Your avatar can only be a certain size, so it downscales it to fit that size.

But why other people have their avatar higher?

I believe it's due to donation level / the staff team you're on. I believe anything from diamond higher get a higher res and FM, GM's and Admins get it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

 

Some evidence:

Poppa (Gold VIP) (No Staff)

 

Drakehaze (Diamond VIP) (No Staff)

 

Sean_desed (No VIP?) (Event Team)

 

Birdwhisperer (Iron VIP) (Forum Mod)

 

Gigarun (No VIP) (Global Mod)

 

It would seem that anyone below Diamond VIP gets a smaller picture resolution. It would also appear that if you're in any moderating staff teams; FM, GM or Admin you'll get the higher res anyway.

 

If you have diamond or higher and are in a staff team like the Event Team it will carry over and if you're neither a high donation level or in a mod staff team then you get a low res. :(

I'm not exactly sure, it might have something to do with his post count. I know at 500 posts you can change your own member title, maybe you also get a res boost?

 

It's hard to say I'm pretty sure it isn't written anywhere. Without a explanation from a tech it would be pretty hard to tell for that one.

Like I said, there may very well be a post count add on, not sure. All I know is that before I upgraded to diamond a while back I didn't have the extra space, like others do. It's just one of those things I suppose.

If you once held a staff position and had a higher resolution avatar, then you were taken off of said position, and persist with the same avatar, it will stay the same resolution as when you held the position.
