What is roleplaying?: Acting or writing as someone who is not yourself, either as a fictional or non-fictional person. In this case, I would be acting as Celandine Solaira.

What is metagaming?:  Using information that your character should not know as if they do know it.  For example, if someone told me something out of character, I am not allowed to use it in character.

What is powergaming?: Making your character do something completely impossible or unlikely.  For example, my character is not allowed to fight a thousand zombies at once because it is not physically possible or rational.

Character’s name: Celandine Solaira

Character’s gender: Female

Character’s race: High Elf

Character’s age:  94

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.):   90 years ago, when Celandine was 4 years old, a mysterious attack on their home tore the young high elf from her family.  Carried by her older brother, Alosrin, Celandine was able to escape the attack.  It is suspected that it was a targeted attack from the wood elves, who hold animosity toward the High Elves.  After the liberation of the Wood Elves, Celandine’s family struggled to keep their spirits high.  An extremist wood elf group took offense to the family’s attitude, and it is assumed that they were the ones who set the fire that killed most of Celandine’s family.  After the attack, Celandine and her brother changed their names and struggled to separate themselves from their family in order to blend in,fearing another attack.  Though she does not hold secrets well, she has never told anyone her real name.  In spite of her rough history, Celandine managed to stay positive.  She does not hold any special hatred for Wood Elves, but rather is intimidated by anyone who follows a cause blindly and without looking at the consequences.  As a result, she has special reservations towards people who are extraordinarily religious or biased toward one race or another.  Raised by her elder brother, Celandine grew up in near poverty, but was able to appear well-off in order to keep up with the demanding High Elf social structure.   Growing up without a family, Celandine found company in the various animals and plants that she kept in their small home.  Since then, she has strived to take care of living things and create her own sense of family.  Being surrounded by people that she cares about is her ultimate desire.

Personality Traits: Celandine is shy, but attentive and makes sure that she understands when she listens.  Though she comes across as antisocial, she is at ease when she is around other people, especially if she is with her brother or close friends.  A very compassionate elf, Celandine has sympathy for other races.  Though most high elves view other races as below them, Celandine finds a way to accept good in everyone, but still remains within Elven law and social structure and tries to avoid starting drama by being overly-friendly to them.  Though she is kind and polite, Celandine is also clumsy and often slips up when she is trying to talk to other people.  Because of this, she habitually says things that she isn’t supposed to, which may expose secrets or other information.  This isn’t by choice, of course, and she still highly values trustworthiness and loyalty.  Due to the loss of her family, Celandine values loyalty above most things and strives to create a faux-family of friends.

Ambitions:  Celandine relies heavily on her ability to learn things quickly and dreams of constantly learning new things.  After her studies, Celandine would like to learn magic and become a cleric or healer.

Strengths/Talents:  Learning, dedication, appreciation for little things.  Because of this, Celandine is often easily impressed.  She is also very close to animals and, though it contradicts her usual personality, would act quite bravely in order to save an animal.  In addition to her compassion for animals, Celandine also values family and her fellow High Elves above most other things.  Celandine’s caring attitude extends to her hobbies, which include gardening and farming.  She adores watching things grow and making them thrive, and has a soft spot for flowers.

Weaknesses/Inabilities:  Her timid attitude often makes it easy for others to exploit her.  She is also generally gullible and falls for most tricks.  As she grows older, though, she aspires to change this and with more wisdom will come more street intelligence.  Because of her passion for the living, Celandine will often overextend herself to help other people, which may put her family in harm’s way due to lack of resources or a release of information

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight):  Celandine has very light hair that, when looked at in the right light, appears to have a lavender tint to it.  However, that could very well be because of her bright violet eyes, a trait that she shares with her brother.  She has the typical light-elven skin (and, much to her annoyance, is often sunburnt because of it), and hides her long, elven ears behind her hair.  Though she is certainly tall in comparison to other races, she is shorter than most other High Elves, standing at only 5’11.
