Reoigi 4 Share Posted August 31, 2011 @leftclick than hide the aengul and daemon cities. its like an adventurer wandering for days he's thirsty. he falls on his knees. he looks out into the horizon and sees a city. he walks to it summoning his last effort. as he nears it he sees a city so beautiful no mortal could have made it. he walks closer but wait he's restricted access. everybody would want to read that story. how about if a blade carved by the master blacksmith, enchanted by availer himself and blessed by ascended was bestowed to a person for suggesting to make unconquerable city. LeftClick 40 Share Posted August 31, 2011 No, I mean... there wouldn't actually be anything stopping you from going there, other than difficulty. For example, it's functionally impossible to access the main Undead city. You'd be butchered hundreds of blocks before you even see it. So, why not let people who are really nice and helpful to the admins /visit those regions, maybe like a Wandering Soul? Local and whisper chat would be turned off while they are there, of course, and they couldn't read books, so no metagaming would happen...
Reoigi 4 Share Posted August 31, 2011 in theory that works but someone learning the enemys city inside out without them knowing is kinda cheap. again what's wrong with an extra powerful blade.
LeftClick 40 Share Posted August 31, 2011 Wait... you think that suggesting that we make an unconquerable city is... worth an extra-powerful sword? Now let's invert that. "We want to make a conquerable city." That statement is obviously not normal, and therefore it's inverse "We want to make an UNconquerable city" is normal, and is therefore adding no new information. I think you just want an extra-powerful sword for what you think is an innovative and original idea. Also, massive pissed-off-ness when you get killed with the megapowerful sword. Although it might be interesting to have a mod that makes any attack by a person do 50% extra damage, then, if the guy with the buff dies, to transfer the buff to whoever had the final blow. LeftClick 40 Share Posted August 31, 2011 (I meant killed when holding the megapowerful sword, that is, when you lose it to someone else)
Reoigi 4 Share Posted August 31, 2011 i suggest that those who do something special should get a respective prize. someone who saved a city from the undead would be rewarded with a sword or staff that held a little more power than usual. someone with a journal remarking their travels should get a lore themed cape. i dont want restricted access to places because that makes exploration boring. if you knew you couldnt see any super cool citys or ruins why go look for them. LeftClick 40 Share Posted August 31, 2011 I don't mean restricted access as in "you need special permissions to cross this line," I mean restricted access as in "You can try to get here in-character, but unless you're obscenely lucky you're going to die before you get there." What happens when you die and lose your superpowerful sword? Please explain that to me. And giving people special items in-character for helping out the community out-of-character seems a bit silly. It makes much more sense to give people an out-of-character experience, as a reward for being so helpful.
Reoigi 4 Share Posted August 31, 2011 again i was only giving alternatives. i think that you should go there with or without points. wether or not you can survive is something else. you should be able to go there so you know your screwed as oppesed to doing something to finally open a door to learn your screwed. again the idea was to reward players and with enchanting and naming im pretty sure you could be given a legendary sword as opposed to getting special access. Petyr 485 Share Posted August 31, 2011 I'm going to be seriously honest when I say this... I think naming items will add more than any other update listed.

Petyr 485 Share Posted August 31, 2011 By the way, in reference to naming items, I think it would be awesome if there was functionality for flavor text/a description, akin to the yellow statless text on WoW items. Perhaps you could /name an item, and then /flavor an item. If you had an item, you could do /getflavor to see extra info.
Availer 681 Author Share Posted August 31, 2011 The skills with Minecraft 1.8 will likely be simple, undeveloped and not very game changing. Do not worry about them affecting our incredible new skills system. We are aware of 1.8 updates, we don't expect much from Notch. Regarding rollbacks, I don't believe it's to do with the server. It's Minecraft 1.7, issues occured on update to 1.7.
awesumninja123 54 Share Posted August 31, 2011 Are you saying that we shouldn't update? If thats the case, then I won't.
