Delrof 381 Share Posted June 26, 2015 While on this server it is pretty obvious that each race has a certain height and stature boundary, some more strict than others, though I've noticed with some people that they have broken this quite significantly, particularly the wood elf playerbase. What I mean is, I'll see a Wood Elf on the road who is about 6'2 and weighs 220lbs yet the wiki says that Wood Elves specifically normally reach up to heights of 5'10 as they are more nimble and quick yet I never really see this played. It's also common for me to see humans up to 7ft, now I'm all about fantasy and freedom of roleplay etc but could there not at least be some boundaries? I'd like some clarification on this, can this be changed? And if so will it be made against the rules? Idk, give me your thoughts and perhaps a clarification from a LM.
TavernLich 324 Share Posted June 26, 2015 I'll agree with you here, I'm not liking seeing Wood Elves walking down the road towering over me at 7'2 ft. So... +1.
AGP 3169 Share Posted June 26, 2015 height and weight don't matter so I don't see why we would bother to enforce restrictions if we have actual boundaries, 90% of all male characters will be max height and 90% of all female characters will be minimum height the biggest offenders of the lore boundaries from what I've seen are orcs
Ford 1996 Share Posted June 26, 2015 Snowflakes. Humans are meant to be 5'4" to 6'5" Elves are like 6'3" to 7'2" Orcs are 7'2" to 8'7" ((uruks)) Halflings are usually always below 4 ft Dwarves are 4'3" to 5'4" I'm guessing But yeah I've seen quite a few behemoth humans. Like guys that are 7ft+ its ridiculous

oblivionsbane 714 Share Posted June 26, 2015 Goblins should really be about Dwarf height but people make them taller. What you could always do is make it a rule where if you want to make a character above like 6' for Heartlander Humans for instance you need a GM or LM approval. Otherwise either of those two can get you put back down to correct height forcefully. (LM's obviously would have to go through the GM's to do it though.) Peanut Butter Jelly 24 Share Posted June 26, 2015 I prefer playing short male characters. Does that apply to me?

SteelMarshall 190 Share Posted June 26, 2015 If you're gonna make your character the min/max height boundary, at least do it with some integrity. If I want to play a human over six feet tall he should be slender, or at least not jacked. But seven feet and built like a tank? Come on, all but a lucky few in the lotc-verse live off of more than bread and the occasional tater or dried fish. Unless you have lore approved for protein powder (which if you do please let me know) you shouldn't be a man built like an Orc. Also I believe Mog had a witch-hunt for people RPing out of believable racial boundaries when he played Godfrey, claiming that they were monsters and freaks. Seemed to work pretty well in bringing the average height down a few inches.
Overland 349 Share Posted June 26, 2015 In the past there was suggestions going around which would make weight an extra variable on your character card. This means a height maximum and minimum can be set if need be. But in truth it isn't really an issue, as it's very easy to do a witch-hunt if need be :P

Heh, off topic - but the advantage of being a lowly chef is that you can eat in luxury, with the addition of long lasting foods...
