“T-They’ve fallen.”

An old man shakes his head as he rests himself in the cave. His frail hands running across the painted murals which adorn the walls, the drops of water splashing across the bottom of the cavern.

“Drip, drip, drip”

“The beast shall rise again my child, it has been attacked at its home, so it shall travel to ours…” The frail man continues to talk to himself, each step making a distinct crack as his feet place themselves upon the stone.

“Those before us… Warned us… They told us it protected them, ensured their survival…” The raspy voice of the old man continues to bounce along the walls of the cavern. Various tomes in strange script and various artifacts scatter themselves along the floor of the mural, runes and symbols carved into the ground crudely by some sort of instrument. As the old man places his eyes across to an empty wall, lines upon lines of text have been carved into the walls.

For the Devourer is our salvation, our protector… They have enraged the wrath of the Eastern Deep, and for this I shall sleep.”

“My children, protect those whom wish no harm against it, for it is our god.

The one who consumes heresy,

The one who protects us from the East

The one who lets those, not beg for mercy.”

The lines are repeated multiple times by the old man, his hands clenching and unclenching as he strides around the cavern. The deranged look of fear plastered across his eyes, his lips parted slightly as the words continue.

“Grant us salvation”

((Hey, this is just a precursor to a range of events which will be released for the devourer! Soon there’ll be a post regarding feedback from the said event, so hold onto it until then. I thank you all who attended for coping with it and hopefully you’ll enjoy the events to come))

"****," says Archibald, survivor of the most recent hunt on the Devourer, as he thinks about the consequences of rousing such a beast.

A scarred and bearded Marked Man stood on a hillside facing the sea, his cloak whipped back in the wind as he watched the waves crash against the rocks of Felsen. He turned and stared up at one of the towers of the Royal Keep, recalling the description Archibald gave him, "Fifty bricks thicker and at least twice as high." It only served to worsen his sense of dread. He glared out at the sea again and cursed those responsible for stirring the devourer from its nest before mounting his horse and galloping off.
