What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is when a player acts and speaks according to what their character would do, and can be altered by other player's actions and by context. It could also be called acting as another person.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is when the player makes use of certain information (such as base coordinates) that the character does not or has no way of knowing. In the base example the player may know the location of an enemy base and go there to raid it, making no attempt in RP to discover the location. The player would have to ask questions in RP, or follow another character there.

What is powergaming?: Doing something without allowing another player the freedom to act of their own free will e.g. If a man attacked another, and suddenly launched into PVP with him, not allowing the other player time to try to RP with him. It can also be making your character extraordinarily overpowered in combat terms, i.e. “Oh, my character is extremely skilled and can take on and kill 20 enemies at a time!”

Character’s name: Frederic Tybout

Character’s gender: Male

Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Frederic was born in the Reformed Kingdom of Oren, to parents who were merchants. At the age of 7, his parents fell ill with pneumonia, and soon died on a trip to trade with a nearby brewery. Frederic’s Uncle, Tomas stole his parents’ wealth, and so Frederic was left alone, wandering through the streets, mingling with the poor of Oren. He spent 4 years of his life in the gutter, and would never forget the people he had met, the people he had lost, and the fact that his parents’ belongings had been stolen.

   At the age of 11, Frederic was found and adopted by a retired mercenary. This mercenary had lived in Adria, before his wife was killed in the slaughter of 1516, and as such he had no children of his own. After moving to Felsen, the Oren capital, he took Frederic in, training him in the art of the blacksmiths, and the way of the sword and bow. Frederic became a master of the anvil, skilled with a blade and proficient with a bow. When the mercenary died, Frederic was 18. He inherited what little money the mercenary had had, and set off, determined to use his skills to help the poor and to eliminate all the wrongdoers of Vailor. He spent most of his time wandering the land of Vailor, and never hesitates to help a troubled soul, even if he risks his own. He dreams of getting revenge on his Uncle, and believes that by eliminating evil he can destroy all like him.

Personality Traits: Kind, loving, proud, strong in battle

Ambitions: To create an equal world, to eliminate evil, to be revenged on his Uncle

Strengths/Talents: Skilled with a blade, Generosity, Master of the anvil

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Too trustful, hates magic and is so highly vulnerable to it, never considers potential ramifications, isn’t very fast, gives away a lot of his money, cannot accept that evil cannot be eradicated and refuses to think about settling down and starting a family – Frederic is too scared they would die like his parents. He is haunted by his time on the streets, and occasionally has flashbacks. These flashbacks can be brought on by extremely stressful moments. The flashbacks are slowly corrupting his mind, and by the age of 65 Frederic will be evil. Frederic also refuses to help a troubled soul for money, and as such is often penniless. Frederic also never quite mastered the art of ranged combat, and as such often needs to get in close to take down a foe.
