Ardor 59 Share Posted August 5, 2015 You can always vote and get mina's that way......not sure how one can RP that though.... I will wait until the mines are open again :/
monkeypoacher 8055 Share Posted August 5, 2015 The same economy that expects me to get minas by killing mobs (when they only drop .1 of a mina)? I could just simply mine for my own iron, but Redeeming 5 vote keys gives a consistent 100-some minas. You can thus get around 100 a day by voting, even if you do it infrequently. This could allow you to trade for between six and ten iron ingots a day, which isn't much. You can fall back on votes, and smith off of Tythus's generous welfare grants. You can also, say, start farming, fishing, or lumberjacking (easy to freelance, you can sell your produce in an auction house), or you could join a guild and utilize a crafting profession. The LoTC economy absolutely does not want you to murder mobs for a pittance. It's encouraging trade and production as opposed to displacing your gold from the pockets of the undead. Iron inflation has toppled the metal's price from the high place it sat on entering Vailor. Whether or not the mining worlds were taken down intentionally, it's nice (for me perhaps, as an iron merchant) to let iron stocks drain out so the material can deflate. The trade increase, also, is good for me and my fellow merchants, and it generates some extra roleplay.

The trade increase, also, is good for me and my fellow merchants, and it generates some extra roleplay. Everyone can vote for keys/minas, so they get more wealthy than miners. And, I redeemed 5 keys, it gave me just 20 steakes. Easy to tell someone to change their profession when you haven't mastered it. I remind you, that skill points redistribution is a paid service (no, it's not a donation). Why miners must pay, not farmers or lumberjacks? A rhetorical question, no need to answer. Iron is not being sold on every corner yet. Furthermore, beginning miners could always dump prices since they need a good start. But now they simply don't have a choice. As for the trading roleplay, I was suggesting an idea to diversify it in a third point of this post; If there can be pomegranates-apples and iron wires-strings, then there can be different types of ores, some of which would be highly demanded while others would not. But that's more referred to other topic. To sum up there, you're basically offering others not to do what they like more and choose less desired occupation. That's not good, a pretty authoritarian position.
monkeypoacher 8055 Share Posted August 6, 2015 There was a certain number of vote keys that gave a flat rate of minas. Not sure if that was patched or not, but still. My position is that we don't necessarily need the mining world back, and it might help with inflation if the mining worlds are down. I have no authority and am merely stating my own musing opinion. However, if you're a miner, you certainly don't like the plummeting iron prices that result from the nonstop striking of earth?
ARCHITECUS 4788 Share Posted August 6, 2015 I would say, "No, we don't." There are people with multiple stacks of iron blocks (How on earth?). Help the economy by trading with them. Listen to this!

Telanir 6975 Share Posted August 8, 2015 People hog ore, even though the mines were down these people coulda made profit by selling it for some change. If there is an issue this big we are obviously working on it as a staff Hiebe, yes we understand mines are important to gameplay, and yes we are on it ASAP, this issue turned out to be a decently difficult nut to crack so it took longer than expected anywho though, mines are up so go have fun :)
