Royal desire for answer and rejoinder, 1523

We, the Crown of Oren, are perturbed at recent events in Kaedrin.  A fortress defending Redmark seems to have simply disappeared under the cover of night.

With the loss of such fortifications, the East's defense lay at stake.

With no further word, I proclaim that Lord Arstan of House Bedell is to report to the Felsen Palace at once, in order to explain this giveless deconstruction of Kaedreni defenses.  If Arstan Bedell is to avoid surrendering himself to the Crown, to whom he owes his allegiance, then he is to be considered a fugitive and insubordinate, and a bounty of 2500 minas installed upon his living person, to be sought, captured, and held under house arrest in the Palace til monetary or material compensation be made to the Crown, to be dictated at length in his future trial.

I am also appalled at a recent incident involving a Roland Sparrow and our King.  I am told that Sparrow entered our King's castle wielding the head of Duke Hugues Sarkozic at his flank, demanding from our King payment for the head.  Upon the King's refusal, this Sparrow assaulted him with the head, and then fled with his life.  Shame upon the Sparrows for this barbarity - shame.

A rebel, yes, and a traitor whom I would have seen in chains no less than Sparrow.  But he was a Duke of Oren!  To be butchered in this sordid way at the hands of lowborn, plebeian scum is sickening and intolerable, nor the standard I will set for Orenian justice.  Roland Sparrow is to be captured at the price of 2000 minas to the dispenser of justice, and brought to Felsen for immediate imprisonment, awaiting his future trial.  If convicted, then I shall crucify him upon the highest rock.

Signed and confirmed,

Duke Titus de Sola, Lord Justiciar of Oren

His Majesty King Guy de Bar

"It matters not the head for whom the bell tolled and it cares as much to me as do snows in Urguan.

The lowborn man who makes demands of a King and then assaults him with the corpse of a Duke will face the iron fist of the law."
