The Unbroken, Clan Raguk

“Forged in stone, iron, and blood.”

"ângh-gund grish"

Forged from Clan Garr and Clan Glogol, the rise of Clan Raguk is nigh.

With the formation of the Iron Uzg, many Uruks found themselves flocking to a new banner. A banner of warriors and workers. Those who are fiercely devoted to the Iron Uzg. This banner was only a minor adaption to the banner of the Iron Uzg, and those who held it would begin to refer to themselves as the Unbroken. These Uruks were loyal to only two; their chieftain, and their nation, the Iron Uzg itself.

Clan Raguk was formed the by fiercest and most elite soldier of the Rex, Malgunus. His goals were simple: to create a clan dedicated to only the strength of the nation itself. The Will of Iron was to be defended at all costs, even the lives of the Uruks beneath the banner of Clan Raguk. The Unbroken Uruk was born, hailing from Clan Raguk itself. Their forges hot, mines active, Clan Raguk is meant to be the cogs within the great machine that is the Iron Uzg. And it is the most valuable source of fuel to the raging scorn.

Within Clan Raguk, the Uruk is allowed to worship whatever they so choose, whether it be the Spirits, Laklul, or Krug himself. But within the clan’s daily activities, serving the Chieftain and the Iron Uzg comes before all else, spiritual and personal beliefs included. Klomping is the main methodology behind solving disputes. It should be done in a respectful and orderly fashion, to show respect and honor to those Uruks involved.

The main work of the Raguk clan is smithing. If you are unable to smith, you get your pickaxe and head into the mines, where you shall fuel your brothers. For fueling your brothers is fueling the Iron Uzg itself. The war nation comes before all else, if your brother and sisters are not fueled for war, the Raguk clan has failed the Iron Uzg. The enemies of the war nation shall not simply disarm themselves, or dearmor due to your brothers and sisters lacking in gear. Clan Raguk shall have weekly quotas to be met. If those quotas are met, the Unrboken shall be rewarded, with armaments of their own.

For the most part, magic is frowned upon by Clan Raguk. The Unrboken are fierce warriors, unwavering in the face of danger. Clan Raguk is the vanguard of the Iron Uzg, and to be weak before the opposing force, is to be weak before the entirety of the Iron Uzg. Shamanism is tolerable, as long as a majority of the clan elders have approved of the practice, and it is practiced with discretion.

Shamanism

Shamanism is an art, highly revered by many within the Iron Uzg. It is no different for Clan Raguk. Though unlike many of the Iron Uzg, Clan Raguk is the vanguard of the war nation. Our clan must stand strong before any force. It is unsightly for a weakened Uruk to stand within the Vanguard, due to their studies of the spirits. But, if practiced in discretion, and the duties to the Chieftain and the Iron Uzg are upheld, Shamanism can be practiced.

If a member of the Unbroken seeks to practice Shamanism, they must bring it forth to the elders to vote upon. If the Uruk has gained the approval of the majority, they may begin their studies once a teacher is found.

For those who practice shamanism without approval of the elders, shall face a severe punishment.

Clan Laws and Punishments

Clan Laws

  1. Honor and respect your Chieftain, the Iron Uzg, and your Elders. To do other than stated is to bring dishonor upon your clan.

  2. Do not deceive your fellow Uruk.

  3. Do not steal from your fellow Uruk. We of the Unbroken give to the Iron Uzg, not take.

  4. Do not kill your fellow Uruk unprovoked or without declaration of Klomp. We represent the Will of Iron itself. To kill your fellow Uruk is to dishonor the Will of Iron and the Iron Uzg.

  5. Do not eat the flesh of your fellow Uruk. Your fellow Uruk is your brother, your equal, and a member of the Iron Uzg, the greatest of honors.

  6. It is dishonorable to practice the magics of the pink skin and shall be severely punished.

  7. It is dishonorable to worship the gods of the pink skin, for they are lies. To worship the gods of the pinke is to turn your back upon the Iron Uzg.

  8. To live outside of the Iron Uzg, is to proclaim somewhere better than that which our people reside in. Punishment by Whitewashing is guaranteed for such actions.

  9. Show respect to your fellow orc and their property.

  10. If you seek to challenge an Orc who holds station above you, a legitimate reason is required. To do such without purpose, is simply greed. And greed is highly dishonorable.

  11. Do not take a pink skin as your life mate.

Clan Punishments

Banishment: Any Uruk who dishonors the clan laws shall be banished. After proving themselves honorable and worthy once more, they may be permitted entry back into the clan.

Dismemberment: Any Uruk who dishonors the clan laws and deemed unfit for forgiveness shall have their limbs ripped apart, while alive. Their limbs, torso, and head shall be piked for all to see, as well as to distinguish status as Whitewash.

Removal of an Appendage: Any Uruk who breaks clan law in regards to their fellow Uruk can receive a variety of punishment under this category. For deceiving your fellow Uruk, the tongue and eyes are removed from the head, while the Orc is still alive. Once dead, the head is removed from the body and piked, to distinguish status as Whitewash. For stealing from a fellow Uruk, the removal of a finger, possible more, is guaranteed.

Flaying: An Orc shall be flayed, either until dead, or only to suffer, depending on the severity of their crime.

Initiation into the Clan

Any Uruks who are not directly born into the Raguk clan are forced to go through an initiation process. There are three trials that must be completed, though in some cases, success is not required. The first of the three trials, is the trial of strength. The trial of strength consists of the Uruk or Honorary Uruk to Klomp a member of the Raguk Clan. If the member believes the Uruk or Honorary Uruk worthy, they may pass them onto the second trial. If not, they are turned away, permanently.

The second trial, is a trial of skill. The aspiring member must either gather a large amount of materials for the clan to work with, on their own, or they must use what materials are given to them to smith an item of their choice. If the item meets the required standards, they are passed. If the required materials are gathered in the span of time given, they are passed. The third and final trial, is the trial of will.

The trial of will consists of pushing the aspiring Uruk into a dangerous state, where they must survive. It can be anything dangerous, and life threatening. If the Uruk survives, they are permitted entry into the clan. As before, if they do not succeed, they are dead and denied entry.

Clan Traditions

Branding or Tattoo

Upon reaching the age of three, or being initiated into the clan, the Uruk or Honorary Uruk are either tattood, if clan born, or branded if they so choose. If they are not of clan birth, they are simply branded. When branded, the Uruk shall sacrifice an animal they’ve caught or captured on their own.

Celebration of Initiation

For those born out of clan, who succeed in the initiation, a klomp is held in their honor. Two warriors of the Chieftains choice come together and klomp until the first to fall upon the ground. Once the klomp is ended, the winner aids the fallen in standing once more. Ale and food alike are consumed until the following morning.

The Festival of Victory

The Festival of Leyd is held in honor of any great accomplishment, feat, or victory for the Iron Uzg and it’s inhabitants. Upon the ending of a successful war, the Festival of Leyd is held in honor for the fallen, as well as the living warriors. For the course of as many days as the Uruk population is capable of celebrating, ale and food is consumed, dances are done, klomps are held, and a tournament of all who wish to participate is held. It is not uncommon for a Uruk to proclaim his desire to take a mate during the Festival of Leyd.

The Myrzym

The Myrzym is the Raguk’s Clan mount in battle. An elephant bred for war, the creature’s tusk are slightly larger than the normal elephant. The body is dressed for war. It is not uncommon for a Uruk of the Raguk clan to put their life on the line, if their Myrzym is threatened. The Myrzym is tamed from a young age, and it the life-mount the Uruk who tamed and befriended it. Upon coming of age, the Uruk is expected to tame the Myrzym.

Taming of the Myrzym

For centuries, it has been common for a Uruk clan to capture and tame animals of the wild. These creatures are used for one thing within the war nation of the Iron Uzg, battle. The Lur clan has the Lur wolf, bred for hunting, and an excellent mount. The Braduk has the rhino, a shining example of the strength and resilience of the Braduk. The Gorkil ride upon the backs of the war boar, as savage and powerful as the Uruk above them. But the Raguk upon creation did not have a companion or mount. And this troubled the newest chieftain, Nagg’Raguk.

Over the course of many years, Nagg searched the sands of the Iron Uzg’s land, seeking an answer to the question he had asked himself hundreds of times before. Unable to come up with a solution, he did the only thing he could think of; he turned to Leyd. On his own, the honorable Nagg sought out a whitewash. Capturing the traitorous creature, he brought him forth to the Shrine of Leyd. He tied the Whitewash down, and in the presence of the Farseer, Thurak’Yar. Calling out to the spirit of Leyd, Nagg’Raguk sacrificed the creature, plunging his dagger into the creature’s chest. Wasting no time, he carved the flesh away, removing the heart, before smashing it within his hand.

Only a few short days later, the Chieftain of the Raguk clan once again found himself wandering the deserts of the Iron Uzg. Upon his trek into the wilderness, he stumbled upon several elephant calves, and before these calves, it is said the symbol of the Raguk clan was etched into the sand before him. As the wind blew, the sand drifted away, the symbol dispersing.

But with his answer found, Nagg’Raguk brought these calves back to the Iron Uzg, where he raised them all. As they grew, they birthed more calves. And from that point forward, the Cubs of the Raguk clan began to tame these creatures, breeding them for war, and taking them as companions for life. The process of taming is not difficult, but is a show of character. For even at a young age, these creature’s are the size of dogs, and with their sharpened, and oversized tusks, are capable of maiming an Orc for life. The Myrzym is said to be an excellent judge of character, and if sensing weakness or a lack of honor within the Uruk, they will refuse companionship with the Uruk, and charge it with the intent to kill. If this is so, the Orc is shamed, and will be without a mount for his life.

The Use of the Myrzym

The Myrzym is bred for war. The Uruks of the Raguk clan armor their beasts, keeping them safe, and ride them into battle. Though these creatures are not fast, they make for an excellent organized charge, as no force can stand before an elephant stampede, no matter how strong. Anything caught within the stampede would likely be crushed or flattened. Upon the Myrzym, the Uruk is out of reach of many melee weapons, as they are several feet above the ground.
