Haribo 385 Share Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) A Hightower Dethroned Louis-Francis Hightower, the most recent of an ancestry long considered to be the rightful heirs to Salvus, had found himself as the most nascent dynast to the throne of the ignominious kingdom. Having rode into the city as a conquering hero, the ambitious young man of a famed heritage found himself overwrought with the responsibilities of presiding over a failing, dying nation. Louis-Francis had ruled over the city with a merciful, benign demeanor, but in spite of his best efforts the expiring kingdom remained on a decline. Regarded by his subjects as idle, lethargic, passive, Hightower had done his utmost in maintaining his domain, his citizens, and his legacy. A legacy sealed in blood. Twere not a valiant death that came for Louis-Francis Hightower, but one that had undone his good nature and left his life unfulfilled. The cunning Alen Gradic, an errant mercenary captain who had served under the King of Salvus, sought an opportunity to usurp him and claimed it at his first open chance - stabbing Louis-Francis in an underhanded act driven by ruthless ambition. The monarch was slain and in his place the upstart warlord rose to prominence. Anyone who opposed Gradic’s new regime was quickly cut down in the streets by men who, curiously enough, were outfitted with high-quality armaments and garb despite Salvus’ desolate state. For reasons unknown to the masses, the newly-crowned dictator was reported to have, the following eve, rode to the palace of Felsen alongside his band of uncouth marauders and presented the King of Oren with the ceremonial keys to the city. And so it was that the Crown of Salvus was placed upon Guy de Bar’s head. For the first time in Vailor’s history, the northern continent was completely united; its inhabitants beholden to but one ruler. Jürgen would comment with his fellow soldiers. "Vell at least Guy is king auf zhat shitehole now. Perhaps he'll be able to sort it out."

Heff 2460 Share Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) Ser Basil Bedevere, Knight of the Broken Gate, Lord Commander of Salvus, Baron of Highgallows, Protector of the Palace, and Sword of the King, is slain beside his King. As the Peacock who Pierces the Plate of the Populists fell, the bastard knight drew his blade and spilled the blood of several around him. His Shields were soon surrounded and met their fate. The Lord Commander's blade painted with red, until he was utterly surrounded and cut down. His blue tabard ran red with blood and his face ran with tears.
