Taeleh rises before the Citizens of Haelun'or, speaking anew:

"Catatonia has so clawed at our hearts, Silver Elves of Haelun'or. We must brush back this brutish tide and rush towards progress— just as Larihei and the Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya so demands".

"It is the duty of the mali'aheral of Haelun'or to so rise up to the ranks of the council— when those who so occupy their offices falter. It is thus that I so stand before you, mali'aheral, upon this day— to challenge the office of Tilruir'lliran for he is ill and can no longer perform his duties".

"For years have I so represented and aided our Blessed people— constructing our very laws so that we could be protected from the tyranny and impurity of ages past. And so, with the coming of a new age for Haelun'or, I once more seek to aid our people— this time wishing to so rise to our Blessed Council".

"It is as Tilruir'lliran, I so seek to spread the Blessed message of Haelun'or— seeking friends where they are so absent. It is as a member of our Revered Council I so seek to root out the corruption which runs rampant and rectify the cursed political situation which we so find ourself in. No longer shall the impure and wild run Haelun'or. No longer shall we stand for these incursions on our Blessed way".

"So it begins".

"Does this mali /ever/ stop talking?"  Riondil would shake his head upon watching Taeleh finish his speech.

"Finally. One worthy enough to take up my accomplished works," mutters Luther.

"This one's rectum must be jealous of all the faeces his mouth spews out..."

Lorien mutters, mostly to himself, as he brews over an equally brewing pot of tea.

"Our allies complain about him, and he seeks to serve as diplomat. Blessed Larihei, help us." Laethis shakes his head before once more dipping his head into his journal of plots and tyranny.

"Taeleh, as expected, continues to apply for government positions - but is he even allowed to do so? He is already the governor of a township and the commander of a military guild."

Kelthran murmured, stroking his chin in a fit of confusion.

"Moreover, his governance of Fi'ceru is a council position in and of itself. If one were allowed to have multiple council positions, what is to stop a party from electing a single Mali for every position? It's at the very least an idea that no doubt gives pause to many Mali'aheral. Additionally, I'm sure he would be completely laden in work from the management of Haelun'or, its allies and Fi'ceru - as I mentioned only a short time ago: one only has so many hours in the day.

I must confess, however, that despite these glaring flaws in his promises, and the fact that Taeleh didn't write the laws as he claims - unless he actually is Kalenz as we once suspected - he cannot do worse than our current Tilurir'lliran, whom I haven't so much as seen in over two decades."

Yuln walks forth through the crowd, carrying a small scroll. She greets those assembled with a bow of her head. "Karin'ayla, lliran. I bring my husband's reply to this challenge, for he is unable to do so himself, the reason for which shall follow shortly. Hear his reply." She clears her throat and begins speaking, reading out from the scroll.

"Mali'aheral.
As some of you are already aware, I have recently fallen quite ill and ceased making public appearances. It was whilst on a diplomatic journey in Oren that I came into contact with one of their diseases, and have been stricken by it. I have refrained from direct contact with anyone but the Tilruir'Leyun, in hopes my condition will not spread. Therefore my challenger is correct in stating that I am not capable of doing my job, and in light of his challenge, I respectfully resign.

I thank Taeleh for recognising my current state and not simply pretending I have ignored my duties which would, after falling ill while carrying out those duties, be nothing short of slander.
- Delonna Aeléyèlsa."

She rolls up the scroll again, bowing her head to those assembled, before turning to take her leave once more.

The note carried by Yuln contains Delonna's signature, and is written in his handwriting.

OOC note:

I know a couple people were a bit iffy about the challenge, due to the reason for my absence, but not to worry. Before my surgery I made it clear I didn't know how long the recovery would take, and stated it'd probably be good if someone were to challenge and replace me.
