What is roleplaying?: Taking on the guise of a character in every way. Physically, emotionally, mentally, and playing that character out properly.

What is metagaming?: Breaking into OOC and affecting RP with some OOC means: learning about an IC secret OOC and RPing as if you know it, or calling your friends for help with a PM in Skype. Things along those lines.

What is powergaming?: Forcing your actions on another player or RPing your character’s strengths beyond what they should be realistically.

Character’s name: Ildana Vilaayn

Character’s race: Dark Elf

Character’s age: 78

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Life in Ker’nor was all Ildana knew, growing up. She did not have anything short of a mediocre upbringing, her days resigned to roaming about the deep caverns her people called home and climbing whatever she very well pleased. On more than one occasion she fell but the cuts, bruises, and scrapes she gained only hardened her. Eventually her mother stopped trying to fit her in dresses because she tore and dirtied them so often. This led to a new sense of fashion for the young Ildana: breeches, boots, and leather, and she liked it well. Another young elf in the caverns once called her an ‘ugly boy’ for her outerwear, and she threw him into a pond. Her mother certainly didn’t approve, but her father clapped her upon the shoulder. He was a guard in Ker’nor, and happy to see his daughter already able to go toe-to-toe with the other adolescents.
Ildana went wherever her family did, following the dark elves about,  and trained and trained as she got older. She grew into a formidable fighter under her father’s tutelage, who oversaw her training daily. She discovered her favorite weapon to be a halberd, for its length and variety of options in a fight. When she turned fifty, she left her family to seek her own fortune in the world, taking up odd jobs along the road wherever she could: whether it was some coin to work as a guard for a few nights, or escort a wagon from one town to the next, she did what she could to get by and was rather content with it. About three decades have passed since she started her mercenary life, and she is in search of her next job.

Personality Traits: Ildana is decisive and it is difficult to change her mind once she has made it. She usually keeps a calm and relaxed demeanor about herself and does not leap into action very quickly. She would much rather deliberate on a situation before drawing her weapon. Ildana is also quite quiet, only speaking when she feels it necessary.

Ambitions: Ildana would like to make enough coin to live contently and work wherever she can. She wants to live a long and good life and see much of the world while she’s at it.

Strengths/Talents: Ildana is a practiced fighter, adept with a halberd and a few other melee weapons. She is able to keep her calm in a dangerous situation. She also enjoys playing a viola she carries around with her and practices with often.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Ildana has an apprehension to cause permanent harm onto another. She’s not afraid to beat some sense into a person, but killing or maiming is almost entirely out of the question for her at the moment. She is also quite afraid of fire.

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Ildana stands at a height of about 5 feet and 8 inches. She is of average weight, not having mounds of muscle packed onto her frame, but enough to fight adeptly.
