Recently composed a short Lord of the Craft Soundtrack piece, entitled, "Echoes After Battle".

Piece Description: "Sometimes, you can still hear the flood of emotions on the deserted field of battle. When the blood has sunk deep into the earth and the wind howls instead of the men, they recall a time when all was not so calm."

Thanks for listening, feel free to leave feedback!

Overall good but don't think it catches the atmosphere of war (or the minecraft version of it!) quite right. A bit too 'happy'

What's your process for creating this? I would love to try my hand at something along these lines, but I've never found a particularly good software. At least not one that I was willing to pay for.

Agreed, but this isn't exactly a song about war, nor the immediate aftermath of't. I think the song fits the distant 'echo' theme it was apparently going for.

I use the Macintosh software known as GarageBand. It's simple and basic, but it gets the job done.

Both of the works I've released so far weren't actually formally composed beforehand; I just came up with the melody, played it on a MIDI keyboard, and expanded on it.

I'm planning on actually sitting down and composing some of my future compositions, however. The reason these are so short is because they were just a simple thought I expanded on for only a few hours!

I can't recommend a good composition/playback software similar to GarageBand, as I haven't looked into it. Depending on how you like to create music, though, I would consider looking into Sibelius or LMMS.

If you're on a Mac, though, GarageBand and Logic are perfect!

Yeah, this is more the point of the piece. This piece isn't about war or battle taking place; don't think of it as background music for your armored human slicing off arms from orcs and elves among a bustling battlefield.

This is the emotional, sensual echo of the feelings left on the battlefield. The rage, the regret, the pity, the sadness... It howls in the wind like the cries of those who have fallen.
