Notes could be found throughout all lands, with an odd, old yet familiar style of writing upon them. Any who looked to them would realize it is a notice, penned by the aged Publius Bracchus of Petrus. It reads as follows:

"Hail to thee patient reader. My name is Publius Bracchus, and if my name fails your memory, I will simply make clear that I am a scribe of sorts. Since my retirement from the Privy counsel of Oren, I have no fruit born of my labors, and must seek employment at my advancing age if I am to live comfortably. Should this interest you, I will relate the experience and training I have at my disposal.

Before writing, I was a soldier, commanding a regiment in the old capital of Oren on Athera. There, I made many speeches before the death of Andrik Vydra, and after, I became a writer for an assembly known as the Chancery of Oren - an institution that largely wrote historical and patriotic works to be made easily accessible by the masses. My work so impressed the current King of the day, Olivier de Savoie, that I was entrusted as his Lord Steward, presiding over Felsen when it was but a street, docks and a square. I maintained my writing, even writing many of the official declarations of Oren in my having such experience writing and no Privy Seal seat prior. During his reign, I also became a dedicated wordsmith who saw the Staunton's refuse the call to rebel, and saw to many a fief refusing a call to arms.

Following the war, I sought retirement again during Guy de Bar's reign. I returned to duties after a call of duty from our current Emperor, working first as the Arch-chancellor of Oren, conducting foreign and internal relations whilst constantly drafting declarations and missives for our Empire, and Privy Seal after that in my failure to attain an alliance with the powers the were at the time. Soon after, I found myself retired again, my family serving proudly now as a Cadet house, but myself largely impoverished in my charity. I can assure no intentions of seeking power; I have many a time passed on titles, one offer being that of a Duchy, all the way down to giving up the only title I ever held - Baron of Aesculus - to better accommodate the architecture of Oren.

I am able to reveal copies of my work to any who are interested, and also reveal ghostwritten works I have made. If you find yourself in need of my services, you may send any letters to the bank of Felsen, and I will be sure to retrieve my mail from it as I stay and seek employment.

Thankfully yours,

Publius Bracchus"
