aTbagger 1 Share Posted September 19, 2011 We had stopped an assassination attempt on the Princess's life today, we've stopped undead from entering the city, and some of us join the attacks on the undead. I do agree that there should be more discipline, and more drills. Perhaps a week ((ingame)) is spent in the far wilds with a sergeant/lieutenant etc... to better the guards and recruits. Being a guard recruit myself, I must say that manning the gate can be quite lonely, and killing pigmen is fun. If we were to have many more guardsmen ((Spread out across the server time not just everyone on at Peak Hour and everyone at AlKhazar having mass battles and raping the gatehouse with complaints >.<)), patrolling in groups and set up in stations around the city, and the path between Oren and the Cloud Temple, I feel the citizens and people of Aegis will feel safer knowing we are doing our job. Also, us guardsmen are treated as slop in the community, many a time I have attempted to make an arrest, and the culprit has simply spat in my face and ran off, calling us "useless" and saying "What are ye gonna do about it, son?". ((/roll is not my best friend anymore)) ((Seriously, it's not funny anymore, I do "*attempting arrest" and then /roll 20, and all the guy says is that he was 20 cm away from me so I couldn't have done that. Or when I do roll and I am successful, I "*cuffs" right away, and the guy would just say that I didn't cuff fast enough and runs away. Then people complain about the guard not doing their jobs, or being useless, or bad. Is it really so hard to RP with a guard?)) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
DecoLamb 959 Share Posted September 27, 2011 Probably because your "manor" is indeed within Oren's territory (Everything, even if it is registered as "wilderness", north of Whispering Isles, is considered Oren's territory, with the exception of Kramoroe). The King can remove things within that area as he pleases, and the guards can enter any homes in that area to check for criminal activities. And your "manor" was indeed a Black Hand hideout until they were finally destroyed. I have no doubt it will be used for evil or ill purposes again; The guards should purge you while they can. Anyways, everyone is more likely to remember the ill from the good. When the guards protect you you scarcely notice, but when they do what you view ill it seems much more obvious. I doubt there would be much wrong with the guards were they kept in line by a Human leader with Human's and Oren's best interests at heart. (( Okay seriously, I'm making this stop now. My house was NEVER the black hand base, for the last effing time. There was ONE black hand member living there, there was only ever two at most ever there, the one living and his friend. that's it. There were some bad people living there for awhile, but even after i kicked them out, i kept getting messed with. That's why I took it down. People need to start getting more information dangit..)) XD * sarcastic comment off* No seriously, i never see them acutely, i never even got questioned when i entered. Why would you even fire them? Its not like they require that much. Give them food, give them some armor and a few minas for pleasure, and you got a guard standing there for hours, trolling in OOC and RP at the gatehouse. Wait why is it not that simple?
