11th of Grand Harvest 1556

Some people who would walk the streets of Felsen, would miss an old man who appeared to have it in his reigns, to be put into the shadows by the Maer and the other stewards. Seen less and less until he never showed up again for a few years. Found by palace servants in the afternoon, this old man was sitting on a bench in the garden, seemingly asleep. Upon further examination as he was not moving, it was clear that he was having his final slumber. A faint smile and an expression of relief upon the scarred and aged face. Burdens of a long life being gone, finally to come to a rest.

Silus II. Iullius Horen, youngest son of Richard III. and Catherine Horen, dies alone in the palace garden of Anpalais at the age of 168.

Born in the year 1388 on the island of Elysium, he has lived to see many realms come and go, met people great and small, made friends and family, lost both, fought and witnessed battle against the lingering terrors which threatened the descendants childrens ever since. A king he was, a duke, an Imperial councillor, a prince, an official representing his Emperor's will, a mage of vast knowledge, a tinker and inventor, a scholar, a locksmith,... but in the end, just a man amongst many others.

Leaving no family behind, having outlived them all, burdened by a long and hard life, of which many envied him, Silus concludes his life alone under a sunny sky and peaceful clouds drifting by.

...

"To be free." A last breather and mild shiver. Eyes closing and a soul drifting off into the endless beyond. To the seven skies, if the creator wills to take him up, a last lost son, a remnant of times past and old.

OOC:

A character I have held for a long time, yes, even longer than my first one, Godwein, with whom I ran for an entire year. Almost two years, with breaks in between, Silus brought me to many places and made me interact with many people I dare say. I do not know who all recalls him, who all met him, but I think he had a good time and was a great character. A thanks to the community for that.

Addendum: A little shoutout to Mog to let me play him. Thank you.

Adrian bows his head in silence for a while looking at the body in its serene sleep. Walking towards the body Adrian would lean in kissing he head above the brow.

"May your rest be long and forever great grand nununcle, you shall receive the honors you deserve burnt, then your bones placed in a tomb with your belongings in the family crypt."

Mikhail would remember when, night two decades ago, he asked the man to help him with studies of the arcane. He smiles remembering the memory, and would continue his endless toil.

Acquilina goes back to knitting. Her eyes tearing up at the news. She shakes her head before going back to knitting. Her father, her brothers, even her husband. She remained silent in her study, a forgotten remnant of a family.
