Lived a Traitor, Died a Traitor

Mark Irwin stood on the summit of a cliff to the west of Norland, watching smoke drift lazily from the town. They'd lost. They'd lost everything.

Over the course of the war, Mark had lost his home, his honor, his family, and his friends. Many of the other survivors chose to keep going. Why? He didn't know. Maybe they'd be accepted back in to society. But this war left a scar no one could ever erase. At least not Mark.

He no longer had any desire to continue on. There was no point. Even if another rebellion did break out, Mark would never be able to lift a sword against the empire again. And so it was that he stepped to the edge of the cliff. "Forgive me, GOD, blessed be your name, for I have wronged you beyond mortal comprehension."

And he jumped.

His body crumpled as it hit the snowy ground below. Forgotten. Alone. Wasted. Forever.

((Humans are boring me tbh. Thanks for all the good times with Mark, everyone!))

The Bull Druid sheds a tear as the ozone is once more bombarded with unneeded fossil fuel burning.
