The Barony of Arnaut

Nestled along the banks of a serene river bed, amongst a lush and fertile coastline, at the ends of a mystifying forest, lies the village of Arnaut. Within the rustic majesty of Arnaut one can see Castle Rheineck towering above the buildings and trees of the land, a symbol of stability and peace. Arnaut is a land of warm summers, mild winters, and rich crop fields. Arnaut is just located south of Summerhall, to be reached by a brief walk, or by cart. This glimmering jewel of civilization calls out to those who seek its beauty and gifts.

 

Lord Altaron Stafyr II has assumed lordship of the barony of Arnaut, formerly called Riverhold. He is currently offering families and peaceful folk homes to reside in and enjoy their lives. Should you be willing to serve Lord Stafyr as faithfully as his bannerman, then you are welcome as well.

 

Families and Homes

There are many homes available in Arnaut, waiting for people to move into them as well as many more being built. At this current moment there is no tax to those who wish to reside here. The farms and animal barns are also free to use for all the inhabitants. Perhaps you wish to host a feast or go for a stiff drink with your friends? For such, the tavern in Arnaut is open for you to peruse as well.

If you hold any interest in living within the rustic majesty of Arnaut, you may send a letter to Lord Altaron Stafyr II ((Z3r05t4r)) or Kommandant Theodoric Stafyr ((EndCallCaesar)). You can also travel there immediately by taking the green-yellow cart from Istria(beside the Felsen cart) to Lorraine and then across that take the cart to Summerhall, and then the next smaller green-yellow cart one to Arnaut. A man bearing the tabard of Stafyr should be located next to it.

Looking for capable adult men, willing to follow the principles Law, Honor and Loyalty of House Stafyr. Non-Human races will also be considered.  There are various ranks in the Bannerforce. You shall receive payment in the form of Minas and equipment in times of need to be able to fight for your Lord and land.

Kommandant - Commander of the force, directly under Lord Stafyr.

 

Waffenmeister - Quartermaster of the force, under the Kommandant and Lord Stafyr

 

Hauptmann - Officer of the force, under the Kommandant and Lord Stafyr

 

Feldwebel - Bannermen who has served for a prolonged time, a Master-at-arms.

Judged by how actively you serve your Lord and land, as well as how often you attend trainings and rallies, you may be in line for promotions or potential bonus to pay, with that said the standard Saints’ Week pay per rank is listed below.

Prissila had heard the name 'Arnaut' whispered among fellow travelers with promises of home and work; a growing community-the Lord sought folk to settle here. Prissila sat perched atop a creaking cart that slowly approached the village, the fading light signalling their arrival. A kindly farmer and his family having offered her respite with them as their destination was the same. She had wandered long before hearing of the village but winter demanded she settled soon, so she had decided to see it with her very own eyes. 

 

Ahead of them the Barony sat just beyond the river, it was a rather quaint sight, it did not expand the coastline as Felsen did but she did not seek the city's bustle. Arnaut had much more to offer, hopefully peace among many other things. Prissila wondered what would bloom along the banks come spring and what lay in the forest surrounding. It would be beautiful surely, even if the land was grey with winter now, the grass dying as the snow crept across the fields. 

 

"Well what ye be thinkin of it lass? Looks like home to meself," The elderly farmer called over his shoulder, driving the oxen on with a crack of a wip. 

 

"It looks promising, a place for honest folk," Prissila spoke thoughtfully, a smile crossing her lips.
