Equinox 245 Share Posted June 21, 2016 Multiple millennia have passed since the last walks of technically advanced life. They laid an old book, made of fine fibers that seemingly barely decayed. There was much about the past to be learned, but was a gentle hum and colored text near the end. Which told the legend of a beast that awoke, and ended a civilization similar to our own. There had always been stories of a creature that protected nature from an over-exposure that was forced upon it by the souls that roamed the realm. These many different faced beings had tampered with the flora and fauna the behemoth had swore to protect, and despite it's own best efforts to stop the encroaching end. It had failed, and only destruction was to soon be laid. Like cobblestone for a new road in a new city. This behemoth would later tread over the cities with many stones laid about. This creature that was so well attuned to the earth around it had came to the first city in it's path. A capital of sorts, and as the story goes; it disappeared, and turned into forest over night. "What is that thing!" The civilians would yell as they ran from it in the streets. The guards themselves shaking in their boots as they stood with their pesky weaponry. It was a pity that only the druids themselves could tame the beast, but they did not answer the calls and pleas for help. They themselves did not know the answer as to why a creature they had never seen before rose from the depths of a swamp, and like a sky god dreadnought. They could not even manifest the power that the behemoth held in a single cell upon its form. There was little to rebuttal, and little to remark. Everything about this behemoth was unknown to mankind, or even the populous of other regions for that matter. This behemoth sung the songs of death to everything as it shattered the very core of life. The strongest corp of mages. The grand wizard, and even some of the blessed demi-gods that roamed the earth met face to face with the creature. They were crushed as if a trained man to flies. There was no name, and for the history books that expected to last through the ages. It needed one. There came a time and place where the few historians willing to speak of the tragedies. They sat down and sung drinking songs as they prepared for the end of the world, but they were there to name a beast regardless of what was going on among them. Names like Nature God, Natural Being, the Nature Entity. All of these rung throughout the cavern halls. Nothing was sticking and no one could agree. A young boy, a son of one of the historians took a step forward and simply said "Nature." The embodiment of such. No one thought to simply call the beast what it was born to protect. Nature, a guardian of earth. An angry titan that destroyed all possible life beyond the totem pole. Those that seek luxury were crushed, and only few lived to the expectations of Nature. They lived on for only so long until they themselves succumbed to the power of nature. ~~~~~~~~~~(X)~~~~~~~~~~ Look I wrote another thing.
