Why do Kharajyr have tails when they're bipedal?

As you probably know the kha were created as a result of horrific experiments by Metztli. They are a cross between ocelot and human, I don't think theres a specific reason why the tails remained other then it just did. The tail does not provide much use to them as they are bipedal but it just stayed there after her experiments. I personally think it would be odd for humanoids to walk around with fur and have no tail, that would just further the furry stereotype that there is.

I have some questions that may seem as offensive, or even a little upfront, however they are genuine and I hope are answered instead of ignored.

1. Why should anyone, new or old, consider playing a Kharajyr character?

2. Why do you still play a Kharajyr, despite the many issues (IE. Region loss, Huge dips of activity, etc.)?
3. If through proper means, would you accept it if the Kharajyr race died out?

4. Ever considered somehow purging your priests?

5. What would you say to old Kharajyr's wanting a reason to return come 5.0?

Looking forward to the answers.

1) Because in my opinion it has a unique yet complex lore, culture and religion. You don't often find this type of rp with any other group. And while we may be a small group, that just makes us closer together as a community. It is quite easy to get involved in the rp and those who are around will help any who need it. I myself have gone out of my way with ensuring new or old returning players are properly set up and if they need any help they know who to ask. Also onto that, if anybody does need help then most if not all would be willing to offer them that, be it with lore, accent, or just general confusion, they will get help by somebody. The same goes for skins, if somebody is in need of a skin then all they need to do is ask, while we may not be the best of skinners or have the best of skinners amongst us. We'll sure give it a try.

2) I don't know about others but I personally play a kharajyr, even with the evident drawbacks such as population and activity because i've been a part of it for a long time and put in a lot of rp and effort. Before this I played a human and I thought that was fun but funnily enough in The Fringe when I was on my human, I saw geoboy66 and leka213's kharajyr characters getting killed by Oren and basically no-rp killed. Even with like 5 minutes of rp I found it quite fun to be a part of and it looked enjoyable on their part. Apart from being killed and all. I joined them in Tahn'Siol, and despite the low numbers, I found it very very enjoyable. Probably the most enjoyable rp I've had as a kharajyr with others. It is a close knit community who is willing to help each other out and I like that. And currently I believe I'm one of the oldest kharajyr players still playing. I know if I left they'd lose rp and more activity and I'll be honest. If I left and that happens I'd feel incredibly guilty, no idea why but I would. I'd rather help a small group out with players who I know with unique and developped charaters then the generic races.

3) How do you mean by die out? Due to the fact the kharajyr applications were removed it would almost be impossible for that to happen. This is because not all kharajyr are with us and even if those died there would still be more elsewhere and would be very hard to hunt and kill everybody. Maybe with the sufficient roleplay but as I said it would be quite hard. Obviously if it was just something by the lm's who said we can't play anymore I'd have no choice. But if you mean by the kharajyr group/community die of, yea that would be fine, I wouldn't like it but its rp. I liked the idea of having a hermet priest of mystery and soothsayer but never did that because of the above reasons and guilt.

4) By purging you mean removing their magic? I assume thats what you mean and heck yes I have. I still want to. There are so many people who got the MA and never used it or rp'ed or attended lessons or just generally became inactive. Trouble is I've tried and so far I can't due to their being no lore to unattune and even if there was they would have to be present. If there was a way to purge inactive priests or ones who don't even use the magic then sure I would.

5) I'd like to tell old players who may return in 5.0 that we are most probably different from when they first played. Our culture has changed over the generations and location. We will be living with our very close allies, Haria. It would be like when we lived in Tahn'Siol and I found that quite fun. Overall I'd like to welcome old players back and I'd guide you and help you if you needed help with our new culture and/or getting set up again.

1. Kharajyr represent a unique niche for roleplay and culture on the server

2. I enjoy roleplaying something that largely differs from the main few races and adding a different aspect into average roleplay scenarios

3. It really would depend on how it happened, but maybe

4. I don't exactly see why :/

5. In 5.0 I expect to see a growth in kharajyr involvement with conflicts and other politics alongside the Sultanate of Haria and other nations under this union.

I meant removing the inactive ones, or even removing the ones that give your magic a terrible name. Not going to publicly, or privately, drag someone through the mud but it happens, as it happens in the druids.

I've love to do that but I can't. We can't unattune people.

Kha can switch between bipedal and quadrupedal forms, though they usually walk on 2 legs when sprinting or running many will switch to 4, which is where the tail comes in handy.

Quick question.

I don't like to play as a Kha, just a general preference, but I'd like to roleplay a lot more then I have with the race. Are there any plans to develop a means to have a form of 'honorary' Kha so that they may live among the race? That might help out (with activity dips) quite a bit!

What you're describing already exists, they're called Soulkha. I'm not sure how you're officially made one but most Kha right now are friendly to other races so it's really just a matter of rping with kha enough. The only issue is actually finding kha to rp with...

Pretty much the SoulKha, I'm extremely interested in learning the steps to becoming one (If there is any set up).

There is no set way to become one, all you have to do is rp with the kha and act like them, live in their culture, etc, and you will be declared one. There is a small paragraph in this thread, but there really isn't much lore on it.

SoulKha are just non-kha who are believed to be the souls of kha entrapped within the form of a non-kha by our enemy Absyyl. Thus we pitty them and allow them to be like us and live amongst us. Theres no defined way of becoming one you've just gotta rp with us and see how that turns out. Its how samler became one.
