~ I’ve immersed myself a tad in the roleplay. I submit this new whitelist app as I have not been active for a while and thought I may as well refresh myself. ~

 

Definitions

What is roleplaying?:

 

~ Roleplay is where somebody lives the life of a character through a simulative experience. It can happen with physical items, online forums or servers like this one. These characters are fictional and interact with other characters. Essentially acting as your mind’s creation. ~

What is metagaming?:

 

~ The use of information that your character themselves did not learn.

Such as shift + right clicking a character to reveal their name and then using their name in roleplay without actually being told it in character beforehand. ~

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?:

 

~ The use of an emote that does not allow a character to react and may control a character’s fate without the permission of the player.

 

‘Player A attacks Player B with a sword. The sword slashes Player B’s throat, killing their target.’

 

This ruins fun in combat roleplay and is overall unfair to the recipient player. ~

Biography:

 

Whitlock was born into a High Elven family situated in the High Elven district of Lin’Sulan. His family, of course, were all of pure blooded Elves that attempted to don those same views onto Whitlock.

 

Of all of his family member's it would appear that his sisters would give the most influence to how Whitlock views the world today; they taught him to be loving and compassionate… Treating him almost like a girl. These ideas and philosophies about others trepidated into dangerous territory however when it truly expanded his mind to care for all races and not just family in particular.

 

After one afternoon at the age of twenty, whilst in the trade market of the opposite district, he found himself speaking to a simple Heartlander girl who was a travelling trader from a Human city. He adored how the woman spoke and even her looks as it was new to him after spending so long with his sisters. Said sisters eventually came about to bark the girl away, fearing that this girl would poison their young brothers mind with both sultry and perhaps extremist views. Whitlock batted his sister’s away, however, causing his family to be rather stern with how they approached him the next evening.

 

His family were not pleased. Fearing that his naive mind couldn’t begin to understand what it’d mean to fall in love with this girl and in order to counter this supposed threat, decided that he’d spend the next decade in the forest and the High Elven districts… He complied with these rules, of course, he never truly followed them.

 

Spending the next few years in the forest and the opposite district, Whitlock found peace in the forest and friendship in the district. It would seem his happiness would last for quite a while. His sisters found fun some days in binding him to the High Elven district, though, as they liked to both immerse him and tease him with various girly activities whilst he could do nothing to stop them… They were doing so to distract him by request of his parents.

 

Overall he’d spent the better part of the decade in the forest; reflecting on what he’d learned from the district and to cement his views in peace… Away from the clutches of a biased mind. As a testament to his views on nature and his distaste for the High Elves superiority complex, Whitlock removed any piercings and jewellery given to him along with his extravagant clothing. Instead choosing a green, somewhat dull and practical long coat to fill his needs and express his views though he decided to keep his light hair but he let it grow out into what’d be a dishevelled and natural mess.

 

At the age of thirty-five, five years after his re-immersion into his races society he kept his true views secret to live and to be accepted. From here, Whitlock decided it’d be time to see the world and to meet some new people to expand his views on why they’d live life… More reasons than the logical ideas of his family or to see how other races treat each other. Taking a boat from what his family would allow of their influence in the city, Whitlock learned to sail within the next few years and travelled north to Fi’Ceru, Istria, Savoy and eventually stopping for a while in Felsen. Whilst on his travels, Whitlock discovered that people tend to receive others differently and with his long, elven name, he was taken as someone who felt above others. In order to remedy this, he chose ‘Whitlock Carswell’ as his more simplest name, a derived form of his Elven one. His curiosities of the world drove him to consider information that was of a rarity… This would become his only obsession, just as the Elves obsessed over science and logic.

 

After a couple more years of sailing and eventually setting course for Axios, Whitlock comes out at forty-three years old, still called a child by his Elven brethren but more compassionate and seemingly more open than most will ever be...

Personality Traits:

 

[+] OPEN-MINDED [+]

 

Whitlock is a very open minded individual due to the thoughts of his youth which allowed him a wider contrast of views. He believes there are good vampires and bad angels, in the most basic form. Whitlock's views on every race are generally neutral; he's very accepting of other people's culture and doesn't mind taking in information from them in order to learn more about how they view the world.

Whitlock is a thoughtful individual who takes into account the thoughts of his friends and perhaps try to offer counselling in a logical rather than an emotional support kind of way. He is Blunt even towards his friends, however, which can either make or break friends. He isn’t afraid of the truth and because of this, even if it’d be better to not know, he’d seek it.

Whitlock wouldn’t be himself without his own blunt nature; whilst attempting to pry into others lives using his perception, Whitlock does not hesitate to suggest anything that may come to mind which can lead him into trouble either when he is wrong or when he is right. The punishments he receives do not phase him however as he see’s it as a victory either in successfully perceiving a person or just annoying them. He’d gain this trait from his constant misgivings with other High Elves that he’d talk back to. He learned that sometimes you just need to say it instead of holding back.

Whitlock deceives people through his appearance, perhaps taking on a more intimidating or threatening guise to watch how people take to certain behaviours or how they’d navigate a dangerous situation. He usually does this to test the a person’s moral compass or perhaps just their views in general. He may pretend to be younger than he is or older. Each end of the spectrum allowing him to view how a particular person may treat a younger person of his race and an older version. He also uses other means of deception, find out IC.

Whitlock, after a time, learned that he could manipulate his High Elven family into seeing things his way if he only gave into their views for the time being. It gained trust and therefore leeway when it came to certain events or happenings after he was appalled for his lack of loyalty to High Elven superiority complex. He learnt that if he agreed and gave up previous views for the new culture he found himself in then he’d be able to more keenly get what he wanted through that culture. Essentially, acceptance is key. Whether it be rights or trust… Whitlock craves it and will manipulate the mind to believe he’s wholly on their side.

Whitlock is quite arrogant in that he has too much faith in his own thoughts and so will sometimes proclaim truth to that which may be false which can lead him into bad situations of believing that someone could be lying or withholding information from him that may make his own incorrect or useless.

Whitlock aims to gain the power of the druids for serenity.

Whitlock desires friends and companionship.

Trust amongst all races.

To be Trusted by all races.

To travel and learn about races.

To seek hidden knowledge.

Strengths:

Whitlock, regardless of how bad a situation may seem will always try to find a way around it using his powers of perception and even if his conclusions turn out to be wrong and fail he will not hesitate to try again and again. He gains this by having faith in his abilities and his will to succeed (If there’s a will there’s a way.) but also because he does not wish to let himself or other people down. It could also be said that there’s something of a voice whispering that he’s superior and can’t lose. Whitlock would deny the existence of such a voice ringing in his ears.

Whitlock obtained this via listening to numerous girls that were intent on being ‘lady-like’ and considering the household he grew up in it’s no surprise how it affected his speech growing up, causing each word delivered to sound readily prepared, crisp and rather well spoken. He also, as a downside to this, gained a bit of a feminine tone which he may be ridiculed for.

Whitlock is very perceptive with how people work/think and will use key manipulation to test his hypothesis’ when attempting to pry information away from them, almost always making it seem like it’s not a test at all. Whitlock acquired this strength through years of analysing the people around him as he studied each race.

Whitlock can come off as a rather harsh person at times but always means well with whatever thoughts he may have inhabiting his mind at that point and he can be a very understanding person, on the inside. He adopted this from his sisters who were constantly “looking after him” and by that they were very gentle with how he felt, too gentle for his liking but he appreciated their support because of what he learned.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities:

Whitlock is quite nosy and some people may take offense to his constant stream of questions. It’s no surprise when it may end in an argument as he likes to hold his ground when it comes to information. His curious nature surrounding the world and it’s inhabitants can be a little too pushy sometimes and that’s when this weakness may kick in.

Whitlock can be quite overconfident in his abilities and has faith in the fact that most races would rather live peaceful lives, than angry/hateful ones. With this ideology in mind he does not always try his best, he thinks that his best would be overdoing it and so at times he can make himself appear like a fool after failing to complete an act he boasted about being able to do.

Whitlock, learning about the lives of many people during his own has become protective of life. This includes protecting people that he has no reason to or protecting a complete stranger, he really does value life in it's simplest forms and will not hesitate to speak out should he feel that someone/anyone is being attacked for no apparent reason. This often gets him into trouble as he may sometimes even speak out against guards.

Whitlock has never held a sword or even a physical weapon before. This leaves him at a disadvantage at times where he may need to wield one, such as a duel where someone aims to fight him in sword combat and Whitlock, with his overconfident attitude thinks he could pull it off with ease but actually landing on his arse and getting shut down.

Dons a green long coat with simplistic clothes fitting somewhat loosely and somewhat tightly around his body, somewhat in between. He doesn’t wear anything in the way of jewellery despite his lineage because he doesn’t want to be bound to a single identity at a time. Looks between the ages of 18 - 25.

Whitlock bears childlike features, much more cute than what could be deemed handsome. He has no tattoos nor any scars at the current time.
