[OOC] How to Olog

Recommended Posts

It has come to my attention that Ologs are constantly roleplayed wrong, as they are actually quite simple beings, and in this post, I will demonstrate how one RPs an Olog correctly

SCENARIOS

A human walks up to you and begins to speak. The human says "Why, what a large amount of big scum you are! Get away green filth!"
BAD: Garbig the Olog would grumble, saying "Dat ahm rood, nub blah lik daht, ukkeh?"

GOOD: Garbig the Olog would look at the human, and then, his eyes widening and drool slathering from his mouth, say "fuUuUUuUUUUuUUuD" and attempt to grab the human's waist. Upon grabbing the human's waste, he'd stick the human in his mouth and the begin to eat. Afterwards, he'd reflect upon the consumption of the human. "pinKIIIiiiz tAAaaazTe hoooZH."

You enter the Orcish goi and want to greet your new found bretheren, however, there is a snaga in the way, milling about it's business, however, blocking your path

BAD: Garbig the Olog says "Kan lat muuv pliiz?", motioning towards the side of the road.
GOOD: Garbig the Olog moves to thwack the snaga out of the way with his massive fist, and, once achieving so, would hulk through the gates and greet his bretheren by saying "uuUuuUuuUG"
You want to make a drink for your pleasant guests

BAD: Garbig the Olog gets some lemons and squeezes them into lemonade, serving it to their guests in wooden cups.
OK...NOT GREAT: Garbig the Olog takes a wooden cup roughly, and, bringing it to the lake, would fill it with lake water, returning to the guests and giving it to them
GOOD: Garbig the Olog pees in the cup, before placing it upon the table and saying "pIZz gROg!", smiling proudly over his table.

You feel violent, and the sudden urge to fight overcomes you, so you seek out a brudda for klomping.

BAD: Garbig the Olog dismisses the urge, returning to sitting below the tree and composing literature

BAD: Garbig the Olog walks up to a brudda and says "Kan lat klomp wid mi?"

GOOD: Garbig the Olog walks up to a brudda and says "LaAT klOOOOMp"

OLOG RP GUIDELINES

Ologs are stupid

Ologs have a very limited vocabulary, and explain themselves in 5 words or less.

Ologs rarely speak, if at all, and often just do as they please

Ologs can't understand complex ideas such as redstone or things; they can, at most, make simple wooden or stone things.

Ologs are dumb

Ologs are very violent, and kill things that irritate them

If you have any questions about the guide contact Dragonslayerelf

If you have any questions about being an Olog, contact Grubgoth_Wud, the perfect Olog.

Ologs are unintelligent

Why do we need a guide on playing a mentally retarded giant? That's just sad. Use common sense and you'll be set. You're a gullible, easily confused, dimwitted tower of an orc that get frustrated from the most trivial of thought exercises like counting. If you need more guiding than that then perhaps this isn't the race for you.

BTW: Wun'Lur is the perfect olog, sorry.

Because this is the 4th time this week I've had to teach someone how to Olog in L-OOC. Some people apparently don't understand how to play a mentally lacking giant, and therefore, instead of using L-OOC to teach them, linking them a page is easier than doing the same thing over and over again

btw I never got to experience Wun'Lur, so the only one I have to go off of is Wud'Fud.
