Two hundred years of humanity clinging to life, factions rising and falling, the memories blown away like dust in an irradiated wind. All manner of mutant life has sprung up, and the moral fiber of every man and woman is tested. But it’ll never really change. . .

In the East Coast, technology is all that matters. He who holds the most tech, holds the most power. From robots to power armor, laser weapons to new inventions. Raiders out here are far better equipped than they are on the West Coast, but are in smaller numbers, less organized, and less prone to assault settlements, preferring trade routes.

 

In the West, civilization is making a claim in the world again. Republics to Kingdoms, dictatorships and even the rare theocracy. Governments rise, and for the most part manage to stay up, at least for a time. Out here, though, there’s a lot of the Old West coming back the further south you go. Outlaw gangs, ranches and farms, small settlements and gruff cowpokes.

The world has gone to the ashes, and it’s time to rebuild it in your image. After all, you know what’s best, right?

Republic of Washington

"A Union of Victory, Under the Grace of GOD"

 

 

 

Field Marshal Augustus Alexander Kennedy, President of the Republic of Washington, Commander in Chief of the remaining soldiers of the United States, and leader of the last truly American population in the country. To him, his office was one of duty, service, and responsibility to his people. To those who deserved a future where they can live without fear of radiation poisoning, starvation, or thirst. The Presidential Palace located in Olympia had been renovated since the N.O.F. came through before the Oil Rig blew up in California, and many large settlements sprouted up in Everett, Seattle, Kent, and Bellevue. Olympia remained the capital, as it was before the War, and the region was mostly stable within the Republic’s borders. Raiders tended to operate on less frequently populated roads, but too often had the largest gang, a notorious group operating under the name the Dawgz been sacking caravans coming into the Republic’s borders. Patrols had been sent out, and small skirmishes often occur within the southern end of Washington.

 

Lake Washington, once a slightly irradiated body of water has become a large source of Water in the Republic. The nation’s largest purifier is located there, under heavy guard and the tightest security to ensure the people of the Republic have ample water for drinking, and growing crops.

 

Unfurling a large map in one of the meeting rooms within the Presidential Palace, the Field Marshal unfurled a large map of the area, a pre war map outlining Washington to his various officers, scientists, and cabinet staff. Outlining their area of control, a major military operation would be needed to extend into the South-Eastern portion of Washington to fully secure the former state. This would grant access to large fields for crops, and would allow full control of Grand Coulee Dam. It has been in possession of Republican forces for some time, but a lack of true control in that region had meant efforts were in vain.

Actions Summary

Vancouver Island (Southern End)

The fresh, fast moving winds whipped at the grass and produce all along Vancouver Island. The populace would be spotted across the clearer countryside- smiling men toiling about some crop, laughing children playing amongst the beach and its golden sands, and women carrying the product of the farmers days of working and sweating in the name of advancement.

Steve himself would watch from the balcony of a renovated apartment building, sitting steadfastly on the edge of their town. It was a primarily administrative building, but it would serve as a medical bay when the situation was desperate, or becoming so at a radical rate- and at the same time, the city garrison would spend their time there, conversing and training. The office Steve occupied was on the top floor- the fifth- and was large enough to fit half a dozen comfortably- the exact number that crowded about his desk at the current time.

"We must lay claim to the mainland! The faster we crush the factions and forces that neighbour- that pen- us in, the faster we rid ourselves of a noose and our worries!"

"Blood will beget blood- and there is no general alive that could solely, with our small force, rival those who prowl the lands. We should cut our loss- it is easier to garrison and administrate an isle than an empire."

Steve rubbed at his head, turning and walking back behind his chair, sliding it first out then back in as he seated himself. He set his gaze upon his two chief advisers- Renault, set in his antique 'dictator's' uniform he was so proud of, pitted against his herald and diplomat, Ford. Ford was wearing clothes plain as his talk, plain as his policy- stay put.

"You'll both stop your bickering, and listen. I want safety and prosperity," He watched Renault smile, beaming at victory, "But we must conserve ourselves. Spending lives and time to attempt a subjugation of the mainland- a land that spans a thousand times larger than our own lonely isle - is simply insane." Ford took his turn to nod, face plain, satisfied at having fulfilled his role in assistance. "Send out a force, twenty men perhaps, south and east to Washington. It seems somewhere we'd expect people, and it was, after all, a land of the US- and if there is nobody there, then the world is truly emptied. Ford- you head the mission, and take a dozen soldiers and half a dozen people off the farms, for we want to show peace and kindness and not the intention of total war."

Though some might have argued that the meeting was not over, Steve made it so with a simple gesture to begone, and another to recall Ford. With that, he imparted his goals of the mission and what they were to do whilst he was gone. Ford listened, nodded, then left.

 

An hour passed, and a simple raft set off, laden with twenty men and three thirds that many guns and weapons, and provisions for three days for the group.

 

ACTIONS:

Maintain garrison upon the island's coasts.

Send a party out to Washington (Hipster) (1 Page.)

Continue harvesting the island of Vancouver for resources, i.e. food, ore, wood, etc.

New California Republic

 

 

The time was 0400 hours. As the citizens of the NCR slept peacefully in their capital and across the republic. At AFB Los Angeles however things were far from quiet. All across the tarmac vertibirds could be heard starting, NCR troopers held their helmets on their head and gripped their service rifles in hand as platoon after platoon boarded the vertibirds. Within minutes the tarmac was covered in spinning rotor blades as the NCR army awaited the go ahead. Then without a falter the Vertibirds lifted off one after another, the mass of flying gunships laden with troops circled around the air base once before turning west and zipping over the city to the desert beyond.

 

The next few hours were the hardest for President Macentyre. He sat in his office behind the large oak desk the Los Angeles Skyline sprawled out behind him. He contemplated like every commander in history. Was it the right thing to do? Should so much blood be shed over a dam? Was it really in their best interests to secure the Mojave? Nonsense he reassured himself. The Hoover dam was the key to success. With that he could branch out into the central united states. He was certain he could bring back the other NCR states that left. Only time could tell.

 

As Legatus Varron sat atop the hill overlooking his camp he thought he heard something. He brushed it off as the chills, the Mojave had that effect. It was too early to begin raiding so he let his legionaries sleep. They were a brutal but effective fighting force. That noise again he thought, it sounded like a chopping almost. Some new mutant? He pondered for a moment before a rocket soared over his head and slammed into a group of tents below him in the camp, he turned and saw what could only herald death and destruction for his cause. Hundreds of metal birds all spitting fire at him. As the metal birds soared over him and the burning camp he bolted to the side sprinting out into the desert hopeful to save himself, It was to no avail however. He was quickly cut down by a plethora of service rifles from the passing birds.

In the Southwest united states there stands a single state still content with democracy.

The New California Republic is spread out over what was once known as southern California.

With Los Angeles as their capital the NCRs legislature and presidential residence lies at the center of the city. AFB Los Angeles acts as the NCR's HQ and main military base. Life in the NCR goes on much like the old United states. There are prisons, schools, swimming pools and police stations. For the most part crime is not an issue, why commit crimes when you can simply work an honest job and receive good pay. The NCR does not see as much trade with other territories due to its lengthy customs process required for goods and people entering the country. However the country gets along quite well, with the Palm Springs water purifier the NCR drinks clean water and is able to irrigate the farm fields surrounding the hills and valleys of California. With good infrastructure however the NCR is able to expand quite well one of the main reasons the Mojave was claimed in the first place. The NCR still has a long way to go in order to regain its former glory, but hope is on the horizon.

Lousiana Garden

 

Hickory Dims, Mouth of The Land, and Agricultural Admininstrator walks to a balcony made of concrete and metal reinforcing. Many people stand below him, cheering, "Hickory! Hickory! Hickory!" Waving his hand, the people settle down. Speaking loudly to the people, "My people!" The crowd cheers again. "We have experienced a great sending of food from nature! We must honor the gift! Our trading boats have brought us wealth, selling our excess and buying what we need to continue our thriving nation!" Screams and cheers continue, a smile brings itself to life upon Hickory Dim's mouth. "We have constructed the ability to supply and train our militia to protect us from the corrupt! We have purified the water and allowed even the weakest to drink water with no fear of death! And we have brought new life into our nation!"

"As we speak our people of this nation are expanding the possibilities of our country! Be Proud! Be Happy! Be Alive!"

The cheering announces itself again in a roar of happiness. The focus on food for the civilization causing many to not have to worry about their next meal.

The Pheonixes

The Pheonixes, a fairly new faction consisting of many smaller to larger cities or towns which banded together under one of the more prominent cities which was based in downtown Dallas and ran under a group of men and women who consulted the lady they called Queen Ember. She would be sitting down in a meeting room with all of her council who complained and suggested about the things the villages and cities needed before she silenced them and gave them her opinion and ended the meeting quickly. The building they were meeting in would be an old city hall government building from the days before the bombings and soon Ember would be escorted to the converted and private section of said building to make plans for the coming days sighing softly before sending out the plans for the future.

(This is a really bad post but im exhausted)

~Actions~

- A portion of the standing militia is sent out in scavenging parties in the surrounding abandoned cities and towns searching for things of use.

- Increased fortification of the Dallas downtown section, steady conversion of the many skyscrapers and building to be used as either military installations or housing for the many citizens of the capital, most of the outskirts of the downtown would be made into sort of look out towers with militia men looking out with rifles and anything they could use to view far distances.

-Creation and distribution of weaponry like rifles or automatics are set to work in the forges in the capital to first supply the militia and standing army with the best weapons before moving out further and further in arming the many militia's guarding the villages in the outskirts.

- Cleaning up of the capital and creating secured storage districts for organized storage while most of the scrape is used to build walls.

Vancouver Island

• Scouts establish contact with settlements in Washington before contact via short range radios suddenly goes silent.
• Scavengers stumble across an overgrown cave entrance and report that within, was the door of a unsealed Vault. They're willing to sell the location for no less than 15,000 Caps. A hefty some, sure to set back the nation's coffers, but the prospect of technologies within is tempting. . .
• Renovations of various city buildings moves as expected, and with a recently discovered source of scrap metals in an old military outpost, things are looking up.

New California Republic

• Attempts to seize Hoover Dam are met with fierce Securiton resistance from the Strip, with Mr. House's robot army having secured the Dam since the NCR was forced to abandon it, however the overwhelming amount of NCR Troopers and Vertibird cover meant the Dam was secured, however they are isolated by remnant Legion forces, and New Vegas Securitrons attempting to take back the Dam.
• A boost of Patriotism sweeps the Republic as news of the successful assault reaches the various people of the NCR.
• A group of Ghouls called the Ghoul Rights Party (GRP) is demanding a seat on the Senate to represent the Ghouls of the NCR. Senators are fiercely resistant, since traditionally only settlements of the NCR could have Senators. However, the GRP has managed to amass a large following and have formed a small militant wing.

Louisiana Garden

• A small settlement north of the Garden has been discovered which is famous apparently as a trading hub. Soon, caravans begin moving South to the Gardens to extend their trade routes.
• A local crop, previously thought to be nothing more than a common weed, has been found to act in a way like Med-X. It numbs pain, however is highly addictive. It's being called "Numbgrass" by locals.

The Phoenixes

• Local scavengers stumble upon an old Army base. They report robot and turret defenses, however it seems to be mostly untouched except for the outer areas.
• A group of very influential and prosperous traders petition the Queen to establish a merchant council called the Burgher Assembly to help regulate prices on goods, ensuring a fair market is available for the people. They request that they be granted a building to operate from and the authority to bring business to something easily regulated.

The Pheonixes

 

'Our cities should be our very first priority' Queen says in an authoritative tone as she over looked the small council in front of her, most of them leaders from the cities as how the council was mostly created for and after an hour of arguments Ember and the following council members filed out one by one from the meeting room; most with pleased looks and a few with displeased looks from the outcome of the meeting but leave none the less while Ember is walked back to her room by the more armed version of the Capital's standing army boasting riot gear or military armor and shotguns or automatic rifles from the old pre-war gun storage they found a while back. Outside the government building would be under intense security with turrets set up and the occasional droid walking along the perimeter along with armed guards, Inside Ember sat down at her desk in her room looking over her reports before giving a fairly pleased nod and begins to write answers to all the reports and questions or requests before calling in the messenger, once he was sent off she sighed softly running a hand through her hair before leaning back to relax awaiting the rest of today to come at her.

 

-Actions-

- The Army base would be ordered scavenged and cleaned of any useful, she would allow them access to use anything needed but nothing over the top to accomplish this task but requested that they had to be sparing and try and keep most of the things in tact

- After some time Ember would slowly agree to the Burgher Assemblies demands and would make a addition to their requests going to allow a member to get on the council as they would be very important in the factions workings, how ever she also makes a demand that any funds they gained the capital would gain some caps from it as well to better improve the nations standing.

- Attempts are made to try and figure out if a vehicle of some kind is possible, not all of the resources are put to this task but scavenging teams are told to look for anything that might help these efforts. (Just to see if a running car is possible)

~Continued actions~

- Scrap walls are being built around the outskirts of the Capital, placing them in strategic places so they worked well while security teams and militia sweep the capital to clear out any remaining hostiles. (Complete)

- Increase in the defense of Dallas, converting sky scrapes and other places to allow citizens and military to live in the capital in fairly safe rooms.(Complete)

- Complete Armament of the military/militia, While the Militia is still much larger than the actual standing army the real military is armed first which is mostly centralized in the Dallas region.(Complete)

- Beginning of creating water purifiers in the larger population area's while attempts are made to create larger farming sections to support the growing population.

- Attempts to make the Capital easier to move around in are made, mainly inside the walls so transport is easier inside the walls.

New California Republic

After some clever political finesse the board of administration for the western NCR regions manage to separate a senatorial district with half remaining in the original district while the other district which is highly ghoul populated is given the same rights as a regular district. The newest district holds senate elections to decide on a representative for the NCR senate.

 

With the men and equipment sent to Palm Springs the Water purifier is quickly upgraded giving it a 50% output boost. With the newest addition to the plant almost every region has access to unlimited fresh water with plenty being send to the underground reserves throughout the country.

 

With the success of the assault on hoover dam the NCR begins to launch fighter bomber sorties taking advantage of the stocks of the NCR's restored planes from WW2 they are deployed to wipe out the remainder of legion forces and stop the advance of the securitrons. 

 

With the newest boost of patriotism the NCR launches a recruitment campaign throughout the country

Louisiana Garden

Hickery Dims strokes a growing beard, he reflects upon the news of the discovery of "Numbgrass." Calling his advisers, Hickery orders, "Men, we must make sure to regulate the cultivating and distribution of this new discovery, 'numbgrass.'" As advisers talk amongst themselves, a voice is heard among the gathering of men, it belongs to Jacob Randel, leader of a region of farming. "My sector has the most growth by far of any other administrator, I think we should uproot the plant and convert some designated areas into farming areas for the new plant. If what we have learned is true, then we may be able to sell it in other markets for several bottle caps." Hickery nods slowly as he thinks the proposal over. "Hmmm, call in Karl Discen, the cultural officer." Karl walks into the concrete room, all eyes are on him. "Karl, what is the likelihood of the citizens abusing this in our town?" "Likely Hickery, if they are allowed to use it or if it is not regulated. The world is a scary place and these uses tend to bring relief." Hickery nods again, motioning for the advisers to leave. He begins to write a document dictating the limited distribution of the herb, uprooting of all the weeds and allocating them to a select farm region, and the selling of the plant known as numbgrass to other civilizations on the Mississippi.

Season: Spring

 

 

Phoenixes

• The Burgher Assembly accepts the Queen’s demands and immediately ratifies new legislature requiring resident merchants to require a Commerce License at a 500 Cap cost.

• The Burgher Assembly designates areas outside of cities for roving traders and caravans

• A local government official was captured while doing a tax census by raiders who demand 6,000 Caps for his return, and send his finger with the ransom note. Paying will set back the coffers somewhat

• The various towns and cities have congregated to ask for a House of Commons to be implemented to with elected officials of each settlement sitting in to better voice the concerns of the people to the Queen, and help pass new laws for the nation.

 

Louisiana Garden

• Reports of a raider attack are brought to the Mouth of the Land, an in depth examination would reveal it to be a gang of psycho’d out midgets wielding automatic weapons. Many drowned initially but they managed to take down a dozen citizens and eat them alive before retreating

• Use of Marijuana has been a traditional herbal medicine to relieve a variety of ailments including pain, stress, insomnia, and anxiety. Government herbalists recommend it be used as an official pharmaceutical.

• In the southern end of the Garden, reports of a radgator infestation come in, requiring skilled hunters to take down the predators. They've been terrorizing a key food garden, running the farmers out.

• Building new water purifiers is estimated to take roughly six months (2 Pages)

 

New California Republic

• Efforts to repel Securitrons seem to end in stalemate. The robots are too numerous and well equipped and nothing short of a full scale war would be required to take New Vegas, something the Republic isn't prepared for.

• Ghoul populations through the NCR settle down and many of the military elements of the party disband and enlist in the NCR or in domestic peace keeping forces.

• Engineers at the Hoover Dam report it will take several years to get the Dam functional, but it's looking hopeful. (12 pages)

• A number of Senators have banded together to form the People’s Front Party, their platform being social reform and bettering the livelihood of citizens in the NCR. The party is seeing a gain in members, mostly working class citizens and factory workers.

• A classified number of reports come in detailing prisoner abuse of captured criminals by interrogation officers, mostly raiders in order to gain information. Putting a halt to it and bringing the officers to would severely damage the amount of intelligence reports coming in, however, eventually word will leak of the harsh mistreatment of criminals suspected of holding information.

The Old Mexican Gulf

• Word is, a group of giant men, tall as a super mutant with metal skin and burning eyes have burnt to ashes a number of settlements before departing on giant steel birds, north of the Louisiana Garden.
• The weather has been turning foul, meaning it's almost hurricane season. This leads to people stockpiling food, ammo, and medicine, as well as an increase in Radgator activity

Texas

• Deathclaw sightings have become more common, with large packs roving East along the coastline. Experienced hunters note that this behavior is highly irregular, especially in such large numbers.
• Recently, a large raider gang called 'Los Diablos' has come up from south of the Rio Grande, speaking a variant of what scholars believe is something called 'Spanish' and have terrorized many towns, seemingly killing adults and taking children up to eight years old. Their base of operations is unknown, but a vigilante group called the Texas Rangers has decided to put all their resources to stopping them.

Western Coast

• Oregon, a region known by those of the NCR to have a host of cannibals, seems to have gone silent. Previously, large packs of roving cannibals would venture south into Northern California, but this seems to have stopped overnight. Those brave traders who walk the roads through Oregon have noted that in the past few months, greenery has swept over the former state at an alarming state, and Wildlife has taken over. The streams and rivers also seem to have next to no radiation in the water.
• A large pre-war battleship was seen cruising along the waters a mile ought around Los Angeles for a few hours before departing. The flag being flown was recognized as the flag flown by Pre-War America.
