Out of the deep.

The Willowsmen of the Savoyard marshes arrive home from one of their usual patrols - however, this particular excursion was far from the 'usual' ones that they normally embarked on. Congregating around the tables of their mess hall, the battered seeming group quickly drew attention from their off-duty brethren. They began telling their tale.

 

"We were out hunting that big thing that's been lurking around, you know, that 'gator mother or whatever it is. Waters were all murky and movey, didn't know what was causing it." one soldier painfully wheezed, clutching at his soiled tabard, painting the picture for his friends.

 

 

"Aye, but that was the actual 'gator! That wasn't even the big bastard!" another'd cry out, butting in and taking over. "We thought we found it, but the 'gator mother wasn't even the monster! We watched that eight foot long lady get chomped up in mere seconds by this thing! Bastard tore through our shield wall like it was nothing..." he explained to the chuckling, unconvinced seeming group. Something like that couldn't be real, could it? The lot must've just been on cactus gre-

 

 

A singular, rather tall seeming Willowsman, armed with an odd looking 'crossbow' smashed his hand down onto the table the group were spread around - with it, came a huge, foot long razor sharp spike of bone, stained and coated with drying blood. He simply paced off, the action being all the words he needed to turn the stomachs of the soldiers.

 

Something was out there, that's for sure.

The Willowsman of 6'2" deposits the spike into his storage, exhaling a hollowed sigh. "Monsters in the swamp, that 'un's the king o'the gators."
