Good Evening/Morning, LoTC Folks!

So when I was new, I was hesitant on asking complete strangers for help in PMS.

Also, I didn't know who to PM when I had a high elven dilemma of what to skin on my application process. Or something along those lines.

Anyways, Here's a thread meant for:

  • People to Inquire multiple things regarding High Elven Culture
  •  Anyone who knows the answer to a question can answer themselves.
  • So if you have any general questions regarding High Elves - new or old players - post them down there.

P.S : No, Haelun'or is not the only city a high elf can choose to live in.

Keep it clean, friendos

Can I play a dark skinned high elf with a golem jaw. I also have different colored eyes and my only weakness is that I get angry a lot.  My parentson abandoned me because they didn't like me. I also had my friends killed by orcs and now I venture to oren to take contract kills out on guards. I think this is a good character what about you high elves????

Haelunorian Q&A**

not High Elven.

But Why. Haelunor is the city, and Haelunorian would loosely imply someone living in Haelunor - not necessarily always  a High Elf. Thus, High elf is more fitting; if anything, Mali'aheral should be up there.

It's /a/ High Elven city. Not /the/ High Elven city.

On the contrary - to correct even myself -  Haelun'or is nowadays used to reference to the whole state. It once was a city, now its just used as a general name to use. We've still not decided on a city name - but on the last map, Lin'sulan was the city name but people still used Haelun'or as a general name for the Mali'aheral lands.

Furthermore, this Q&A is not limited to the people planning/already living in the city. If someone wants to play a wood elf-high elf but are puzzled with the high elven culture part, they may still ask it here. Thus, the term 'High elf' is a more fitting name.

That is like telling the wood elven nation that they can't make wood elf q&a. If you play a high elf and are impure then you just play a regular elf tbh. If you absolutely need to call yourself a high elf you are already prescribing to a race & culture that was born from Haelun'or. Haelun'or are the high elves.

You trying to stir shiz on a Q&A thread that is meant to help is bullshit. :] Comment elsewhere, please, and have a fabulous day.

Anyways I'm guilty of fooling 'round, but keep the thread focused to serious questions from now on Please.

We can, as a majority of our people live with us.

Meanwhile High Elves are split between Norseth'onn and Haelunor.

Yall can can make a Mali'thilln no problem tho.

Haelunor isn't High Elven culture, it's Silver Law culture.

How do they treat their children?

Evidently they would normally treasure them as children are rare for an elf. They would already begin teaching them the ways of Maehr'sae Hiylun'ehya from a young age, I'd presume, and pride themselves in raising them with an abundance of knowledge at their disposal. There are several laws against harming children, though the average mali'aheral wouldn't normally hurt them anyways. As I said, they're highly treasured and taught from a young age the perseverance of Purity.
