They arrive anxious and fearful, for the Pontifical Election to be held is the strangest ever to be held. The Legion provides protection to the concerned Canonists draped about the central chamber. But about the Cathedral's tower gathered those who would vote. Those whom would designate the successor to his holiness, Everard III. The Bishop Himmel would then speak. "With the horrid events that have transpired a true successor must be chosen from among those whom could continue to possibly pick up the pieces of our broken administration. Those still left in senior and respected position must take up the responsibilities previously neglected, and commit to a free and indisputable election. This Synod is thus made up of those rightfully appointed by the late Everard III, and those here at behest of our Johannesburg Diet. This council must now elect a true Pontiff of the Faith, God help us, and God, bring salvation to his loyal Church." And so the deliberation began, each Cleric speaking their mind if needed and placing their written votes into the lock-box one by one. As I have already mentioned we must revive the Everardian traditions; the traditions that have been worked to perfection by the Pontiffs of Vailor, and our good Pontiff Emeritus. The Empire and the Church since the founding of our realm has always been dominate together. We worked together to depose the de Bar tyrant. Our relationship is symbiotic. To recoil form their touch is unnecessary. We must also think of Canonists outside the Crownlands, by God. to the Canonists that flood our Cathedral's main hall! There are thousands of believers in Imperial lands who are fearful, the people of Haense, Lorraine, Savoy; none wish for our good union to dissolve from existence. We must do what is right for our people, for what is good for them, is good for the realm and it's Church. I beg those assembled not to let our gracious Church fall. We must continue to work as one with our nation, and indeed humankind. The renewal of Metz is the start. For the good of us all we must present this Empire with the figure it deserves, and the Church it requires. I have served this Church since my youth in Vailor, throughout Aeldin as well. I have served with the utmost respect through three previous Pontificates and advised many more. But indeed it has been GOD’s will. And I submit myself to Him at all times and in all places. That being said with my most recent announcement starting a stir-know that it was not intended to. Virtually we should live in a society, in my opinion, that obeys the laws and holds all members accountable for their wicked actions. It should come as no surprise to you all that we do not. The vengeful rage together against the Lord and against his anointed. I do once again offer my sincere condolences to the people of Oren, those currently being persecuted for the sake of their faith, and those clergymen that I will now address. It has come to my attention and was outlined in my most recent Bull that the Imperials wish to create a new church. This in total is a new low. Never in history do I recall the cronies of a corrupt government wanting to take up the cross in spite of the Vicar of GOD. I have heard that they declared me illegitimate. This is a joke in and of itself. Like all most recent Pontiffs I was elected through the conclave of all living Cardinals. Yes, five were not present… this is because five were not living. The late Pontiff Everard seemed to neglect announcing two more Cardinals from his tomb at the hour of the election. Take that up with him I say. Now to those who are currently ordained, I have been appointed and have appointed each and every one of you excluding Himmel of Aeldin. I pled for the sake of your souls that you do not continue on with the flirtation of a schismatic faith. I do however trust your loyalty and so bless you as loyal servants to the Immaculate Throne. Lastly, I now direct my attention to the matter for which I write. There is now talk of an “election” to determine the “new pontiff.” I wholeheartedly support myself and pray that through the intercession of all the blessed and venerable in the Seven Skies that the election would render me as Pontiff once more.
