21st of the Grand Harvest, 1589.

 

An average day ticks by in Johannesburg, the usual activities of the city continues on without interruptions, until a young man, standing on a pedestal, clears his throat.

 

“Hello! You there! Come around come around!”

 

He’d point a random to the passersbys, gathering an audience before the young man began speaking in full.

 

“Fellow Compatriots! I bring some dire news, if you have not yet learned. Our Dear Emperor.” The man would pause, gathering his words, inhaling sharply momentarily and would continue, resuming quickly with haste, “Has deemed it so we are off to another war! Against the Dwedmars out of all nations to pick!” he’d exclaim, his finger pointing up in a general gesture.

 

“Does the current regime not understand the concept of war?! Do they plan to exhaust the will of the people? How many more minorities shall we crush underneath our marching boots? This gluttonous Empire of ours seems that it shall not stop its lust for conquest, its want to show off, as if they are overcompensating for something!” emphasizing on the last part, the young man would shout.

 

Now having spoken a bit, the man paces to and fro as he speaks, having attracted a fair crowd of listeners. He’d clap his hands together once, turning back to the crowd.

 

“Since when have we, the collective, the citizens of this Empire, become so indoctrinated that we are incapable of realizing these fabrication that the ruling regime have constructed.“ the man once again pauses momentarily, as if he was gathering his thoughts.

 

“No! Some do know of these heinous claims, but remain silent and meek in hopes that they may be able to get more spoils of war for themselves, to appease their peers and whatever other nonsense! It is degrading to see and hear of acts like such!”

 

With his hands clenched, he’d continue on with the final piece of his speech. The visage of frustration clear on the young man’s face.

 

“The Aristocrats of our Empire care not for the well being of the common person of the Empire, they simply follow as the Emperor leads them on with collar and leash and those who truly care for the people are too few to make impact, so instead of looking to your liege lords for assistance, look within yourself, look to your neighbors and friends, it lies within us to change! Us, the common people of the Empire, Us, the majority of the populace, to right the wrongs made by a nepotistic corrupt regime! To continue following on blindly like sheeps is despicable and worrying, where has the integrity and honesty gone!”

 

Clearing his throat, he’d gesture to the crowd in a wide wave of his hand.

 

“It is within our abilities to alter the power that is in the hands of the wrong! Throw off the shackles of this idiotic cronyistic regime, and reform ourselves into a proper state. I implore you, good people, heed my words thoughtfully.”

 

At this conclusion, the young man began to gather his things, leaving the perplexed crowd behind, in a  brisk retreat from any Imperial Authority seeking to apprehend him, entering the backstreets of Johannesburg.

 

 

 

When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.

"The Empire is no longer concerned with reforming and improving the lives of their citizenry, but instead, placing our tax dollars towards horrendous foreign policy advancements. If we are to pay taxes, the people should, at the very least, receive some form of benefits in return. Hell, they aren't even concerned with enforcing GOD's will anymore, are they! We have devolved into a regressive society, it's about time that we voice our opposition and critiques."
