As promised in his previous speech, pamphlets regarding the specific criteria for the literary competition would be spread by Icarus throughout Haelun’or. Of course, they would only be distributed within the city, and only to mali’aheral citizens or those Icarus knew well enough to trust in the competition.

Haelun’or Literary Competition

10th of Malin's Welcome, 1592

Eligibility: To be eligible for the competition, one must be a pure mali’aheral registered as a citizen, or otherwise a resident of Haelun’or who has received express permission to enter from the Okarir’maehr or a Tilruir’maehr. Your work must be original and adequately cite any contributions from others, though any topics are suitable and accepted.

How to Enter: To enter, one must submit their original work to the library in the designated donation chest prior to the deadline [[January 3rd, 2017]]. The library has a chest stocked with blank books for use, though if this chest is empty, any Tilruir’maehr can supply blank tomes.

Each entry should be presented in their original form, and have a title page which includes the title, subtitle (if applicable), year published, location published and author. An example can be seen below:

Though any topic or genre is welcomed, it is advised to submit something unique. Submitting a topic already thoroughly covered in the works held within the library is less likely to achieve success, lest it provide a new or interesting means of consideration for said topic.

Rewards: Up to six exemplary works will be chosen as superior submissions, and their authors shall each receive a specially designed quill, made to write without any ink. This is meant to be both pragmatic, yet also symbolic, representing the inexhaustible nature of knowledge and study.

The three works deemed to be the best will also serve as the first three works to be discussed by the society of scholars, and their authors shall receive a special distinction at their designated discussions. This will likely lead to special privileges in the future within the society.

If you’ve submitted a work to the competition, please also submit a form of entry to the Eternal Library so your submission can be confirmed.

OOC: I cannot log into Minecraft. May I write something and have someone in-game transfer it into book form and that someone receive the reward if the work is deemed great enough?
