I am fascinated by the amount of things each individual does on this server, especially as you experience a couple of years on LOTC. I have been here for almost five years and I wanted to show the characters I have portrayed so far. This doesn't include a butt-ton of event characters that I have had but I hope you enjoy and then post your own stories!

Iatrilemar Elervathar

Iatrilemar Elervathar:

My first and most accomplished character. He is referred to as Iat and through him LoTC gained Arcanism. He is from Aegis but in reality I have only been playing him since I joined in Asulon. He is cold to some people while warm and thoughtful towards others. Despite his immense power with voidal arts Iat has never slain another descendent and much of his story is largely a mystery still. His profession before spellcraft was acrobatics which was used as the inspiration and reasoning for the development of Arcane Shielding. My main goal from the time I started playing him is to somehow, someway, wiggle him up to aengudaemon status. Funny enough is that he had the opportunity to become the Aengul of Beauty back in Anthos (because red tags) but I turned it down and took a break instead. Although he is a high elf in Haelun’or he is much nicer to other descendents than he is to high elves who he believes are lackluster imitations of him. To him most mali’aheral will never be pure or perfect and thus are lost causes. He has two daughters and a lovely wife but is in fact asexual. Iat was enslaved in Aegis as his backstory but saved by the ascended on their snowy fields assault campaign. Before this both parents had died to disease leaving him to raise himself until a mute nomadic orc of unknown origins became his protector. A twist on the ‘orcs killed your parents’ story has led to him having respect for the orcish culture. The name Elervathar is usually shortened to Thar. The Thar family and bloodline is largely absent from the realm and exist in a world similar to Aeldin where they rule over their own empire. The whereabouts along with much of the culture and technology of the Thar Empire is left purposefully ambiguous due to Iat’s lack of knowledge of his origins. It can be assumed that the Thar Empire followed Malin and diverged at some point after discovering the magic behind the Golden Pools alongside Larihei’s people.

Hera Acius

Hera Acius:

For awhile Hera, who had no last name or family at the time, was my main character and I was taking a break from Iat. She joined the Malinor Sentinels hoping to receive combat training but due to sexism within the ranks she was falling behind other recruits. When the Delvers lead an assault to recover Polgrath from the Malinor Prison she followed the raiding party to discover their hideout in hopes that she would receive proper recognition from the Sentinels. She was found, spared and brought back to the Delver base where she eventually agreed to join if they trained her. The following years led to rapid growth and eventually her co-leading the Delvers with Artimec. Whereas Iat has almost exclusively been a spellcaster Hera has almost exclusively been a fighter, specifically with the sword and shield. Eventually she left to adventure the world only to show up later, with family. The Acius seed had found its way to the rest of the mali’ame during the Fringe where they became a strong force that rivalled the other wood elves with their Roman style family setting. During Athera the Acius family eventually packed up and left entirely in order to find their old home, Okeanos, where the Acius bloodline was considered to be of the ruling class. Hera Acius is the cousin of Elorna with the their mothers being sisters in the Avern seed which is where her red hair comes from though in Hera’s case it has always been a deeper firey red. More info on the bloodline HERE

Va'Vaca

Va’Vaca:

Despite my username it was quite awhile before I actually played a kharajyr. Formerly just known as Vaca I had applied to the old kha system to play Vaca as a cub. I would go on to roleplay a couple of weeks as a mute cub before retiring him from Asulon, as there was little to no kha roleplay happening at the time, only to pick him back up way later in Athera where he joined the Va clan of feral hunter kha. He has always been mute and though he is my first real side character I have played him the least. He was gigantic (way to big for a panther) and never spoke a word. In the time I did play him he also never harmed a fly and was generally a kind soul who was isolated due to his lack of communicative abilities. Over the years his dark fur has grayed but his monolithic size remains the same. Many scars adorn his body, causing trailing bald spots. The cause of the scars is unknown but it is inferred that other kharajyr have left their marks over the decades. Vaca's temperament is extraordinarily calm perhaps due to the same reason he remains mute. Although he is giant he has the remarkable ability of being gentle. Birds and small animals have often perched upon the fur of Vaca. Who knows? Maybe he can communicate with them instead.

Priam

Priam:

If Priam had lived to adulthood (he may have no one knows) he might have looked like this, except with markings all over him. When I started playing Priam in Anthos I wanted to attempt to play the most edgy character I could possibly think of. So I started off with a dark elven child. Good start but not cringy enough. So I made him albino, but with red hair. Then put him in tribal gear, had him covered in tattoos and he wanted to be a badass warrior. What I found instead of people chasing me around (I never got to experience it so I went full out) was that people genuinely enjoyed the little guy. He was a little charmer who could virtually do anything he wanted by acting cute (but he was so strange.) For instance when the White Rose were wiping through the Dark Elven settlement not only did they spare Priam but they offered him to join which he did. Nothing came out of that though because children are clueless but he ventured to places like most of the royal keeps, the dwarves and orcs and eventually made his way to the North. He should have froze to death but his backstory was that he was actually born in someplace snowy so for some reason he had cold resistance (i.e. the OG snow elf. Adding to the edge factor). His story ends when he mistakes a screech for the sound of his dead mother. Moments later the twelve year old was swooped up by a dragon and carried off into the North. He is assumed to have died but perhaps he went on to live a normal, dark elven life.

Teekon

Besieged-Goblin-Wardriver.jpg

Teekon:

It was never explicitly said if Teekon was of goblin or halfling origin as when he was revealed in Anthos as one of the members of the Northern antag (the ones before the Harbringers) he was so badly deformed that no one really knew. Due to this it is almost impossible to find art that resembles him entirely but for the most part he may be thought of as a goblin with a half mask (covered his face all but one eye) and several pipes protruding from his rotting flesh. Despite his disgusting appearance many that encountered him thought he was quite adorable only to find out they were very wrong. At this point in time we as antags had almost complete freedom with character abilities and because of this Teekon was a ******* monster. Bile seeped from the pipes jabbed into his body that was used to dissolve things so he could eat them. He could climb walls and jump/scamper like a little bug. The worst part is that when he removed his mask his jaw unhinged. From there he could spit acidic bile and if his prey became incapacitated would attempt to eat them literally like a snake which almost always left him stuck and having to be pried off by other members of whatever raiding party he was with. In the Red Realm he worked as one of the engineers and lived in the crevices near the factory. It can be inferred that he remained in the Red Realm, or perhaps left to wander the realm alone to sate his ravenous hunger.

Tako

tumblr_o9wq4pXXJO1us3acio1_500.jpg c5310ae42e23f737472832ccf1642760.jpg

Tako:

Yes I named my gobo taco. There was no reason. To fill the void left by Teekon (and the spiritual sequal to), and to RP with Aislinn in the conquered Salvus in Anthos, I made Tako the snickering engineer who occupied the sewers of Salvus (which was the only part of the city left after the warclaim/deconstruction). Tako was also based off of an Earth Elemental I had been playing that took the form of a rocky goblin. I was always fascinated by goboz rather than the human sized goblins because goboz are the anti-halfling and I find that to be hilarious. Tako is the most mischievous character I have played and was constantly escaping the clutches of angered, bloodlusting orcs he had pissed off. One of my goals on him was to develop a goblin city in the sewers (which I almost completed but we ended up leaving). He was my first “anything goes” character where I would literally take everything as lightly as possible while attempting to create abnormal amounts of chaos. Eventually other goblins showed up in Thales as red goblins. Tako wanted to fit in so he went and rolled in red paste to change his skin color. This of course was only temporary and for the most part he didn’t get involved with that clan. Mostly due to his lack of intelligence and short attention span. Tako was also a really really bad thief but a thief nonetheless. He was generally respected for during his time with the orcs in Anthos and normally was found on the shoulders of Aislinn’s orc where he pretended he was the king. Tako has a fascination with objects that reflect or shine but instead of keeping them he would bury them (literally would bury ****) so that no one could re-steal it. Not much is known of his current whereabouts.

Faye

Faye:

It took me till the middle of Athera to finally play a human and I had a very specific goal in mind. To join the royal court through marriage. I wanted to play a character that was deeply affected by her surroundings. Faye was a peasant with a pleasant outlook towards life and the smarts to look out for herself. She found herself into the kingdom in her early teens, alone, but full of spirit. Not much occurred due to rising tensions so she eventually took a field hand position in a local settlement. When Iblees was unleashed her fear of death led her to a rural settlement in the South where she was given free reign at managing a bar. Though little to no customers would come to find her bar she kept a quiet life as she began to learn the art of brewing. Nearing adulthood Faye had begun to bring shipments of her brews to the royal court where she had always hoped to live. Not only were her drinks a hit but Faye could have easily found a suitable partner to elevate her from peasantry. However Faye was aware of herself and knew she was a threat to the Queen and her daughters in terms of selecting eligible suitors. Eventually she stopped showing up to the palace altogether for fear of her life. She lived quietly in her homestead which was near the dreaded swamps but thankfully never a target of the darker hearts that inhabited it. She would go on to continue to sell her drinks, occasionally having others brings crates to the palace before the exodus occurred. She spent the remaining days of her young life awaiting the worm’s destruction, knowing too well she could not have made the exodus alive. It is inferred that she died within her home and bar but she lived her life as one could expect any mortal to. Full of hopes and fears and waiting for the end.

Hal Kinez

4f43551721019e60fcefc496dc66aae1.jpg

Hal Kinez:

While Hal may be a character shelved prematurely (because the timing was wrong) he was full of ambition nonetheless. The platinum blonde half-elf (though everyone knew him as a regular human boy) with amber eyes wanted nothing more than to be a Knight. As a child he became a page to Bryce Vimmark, Viscount of Alamar where he was tutored in all the mannerisms required to be a successful player in the royal circuit. Hal as a young boy was full of naivete and often found himself being pushed around due to simply being in the wrong space at the wrong time. He was loved despite his lack of family (the whereabouts of which are unknown) and had the ambition of becoming a great beast tamer as well so he too could ride a hippogriff someday. His current whereabouts are unknown after he left for his first solo hunting trip and never returned.

Malv

Malv:

Malv is apart of a group of three ape-kha who refer to themselves as the Vailorian Rangers. Just from the name you may figure out that Malv was introduced in Vailor. Despite his regal white appearance Malv was not the kharajyr leader. Instead he was completely obsessed with his appearance and was driven to groom his fur with dyes daily. Despite being from different litters Malv refers to Rondar and Yavu as his only family, each specializing in a different area of combat. All three area gigantic kharajyr with Malv being in the middle of Rondar, the largest, and Yavu, the smallest (but only by a little). Rondar held a composite bow to match his size, Yavu wielded a two-handed greatsword and Malv had a bardiche and crossbow. Together they made up the Vailorian Rangers whose mission it was to lend aid across the realm whenever possible however due to the lack of sensible relations between the kharajyr nation and almost every other nation the group found it difficult to find work and because the three despised their creator, Metzli, they would find no home with their fellow kharajyr. Malv is boisterous and regularly challenges Rondar to contests of strength and the intensity of their roar while Yavu is content to watch. Out of the three Malv was the least intelligent which showed in his fighting style where he had no second thought about running on all fours to either pounce of swing his bardiche mid-stance shift. Malv still roams the realm but is currently separated from his brothers.

Troen

tribal_warrior_by_len_yan-d5kyy4d.jpg

Troen:

Troen is an estranged mali’ame who is friendly to everyone but has a much different outlook on life than most mali’ame. Originally he was meant to be my full-time character as an Arbiter of Grigario but due to the denial of the lore has turned into a side-character. He came from a seed, which he refers to as a briarpatch, and believes that the natural world is much better at balancing itself than what the druids do. His ambition is to become a beast-tamer but believes beasts must be dominated, not communed with. He also has no negative opinion on the use of necromancy as he has witnessed necromancy act much like druidism but instead of causing rampant growth it maintains order and balance. Not much else is known about the Arbiter other than he has an affinity for animal bones, each being from a beast he has slain or an animal he tamed. The markings on his body each correlate to a tamed beast as a way of showing their connection. They are as much apart of him as he is them.

Veles Volos Vucari

Veles Volos Vucari:

Veles is a character I will play sometime in the future. He is based off the equivalent of the Salvic Devil and is a virtuoso who just wants to watch the world burn to fine, classical music. He isn’t easily angered but that doesn’t stop this pyromaniac. He is sadistic and finds pleasure in torment. The idea behind Veles is to create a villain with more personality than just “I am killing machine.” He will learn, and grow and express his wicked ways much to the inspiration of our dear lord and savior The Pumpkin Lord Knox. Plus he has better hair than you.

Pretty proud of this character profile

Riley Thar

FullSizeRender.jpg

Irilen (Riley) Elervathar:

Another future character. Riley is the first-born daughter of Iatrilemar Elervathar and Ariana Elervathar and sister to Iaria Elervathar. No one knows of her lineage, not even her. She has always gone by Riley despite her name being Irilen and at some point will meet up with the descendents. Due to the elven curse of infertility Iat and Ariana had tried to concieve for hundreds of years starting at the beginning of Anthos in Ln’evaral. Miscarriage after miscarriage left the two destroyed but a plan was eventually forged by Ariana, without Iat’s consent. During Athera Ariana made her way back home and became pregnant. Soon after she disappeared again. Iat had thought this was due to the resurgence of Iblees but in actuality she had made her way to and from Athera with a guide that took her to a Thar occupied settlement where she was finally able to produce offspring, Irilen. Fearing retribution from Iat or that he might leave to track down his homeland (the settlement only being an outpost) she left her daughter to be raised by the Thar supporters. Eventually Ariana found her way back (for like a fifth time) but it took almost half a century to do so due to the difficulty of finding Vailor. It was long before the two attempted to conceive again but when the realm found their way to Axios the two decided it was time. Riley has no knowledge of Iat or Iaria and only faintly remembers Ariana. Despite this she holds her father’s sense of adventure and wanting of magic. It is not known how she found her way to the descendents we know and love today or why she left her actual homeland other than that she was searching for something.

Man, chosing inbetween all those gave my heart a pain, honestly. All your characters are good, without any exception. Though my favorites are Tako and Va'Vaca, my vote goes to Va'Vaca,  Iatrilemar and Veles.

Keep on the good character development and the awesome backstories.

I'll leave one of my own here.

Spoiler

Rowan von Mardstadt, General-Commander, Vassal.

Rowan, of House Mardstadt, was what you can call a spoiled brat. No was not an option for that little kid.. I'm still playing this character, and his personality, after his father's death and the impoverishment of his family changed drastically from that of a spoiled boy, to a humble and depressed northman. After the said impoverishment, his family moved from the small and almost unrecognizable settlement of Medstad in Asul, he came to Tahn in search of the Empire, only to find out about the on-going Courlandic rebellion. After finding out such, Rowan took upon the reigns of House Mardstadt and became a vassal of the Empire. After such, he went in for search of his own culture, Norlandic, that is, in Ostermark. He now serves as a vassal to House Ashtyr and a warrior to Ostermark, in search to bring back the glory of House von Mardstadt.

Geeeeeeez...!
I'll reach my 5 years SUPER soon and I've only every actually developed 2 characters! (Barely, basically 1) With six attempts at side characters that never went far at all.

Twas very fun reading these, they're very well written! Keep up the good work friend!

I'll take a swing at writing about my main character.

Spoiler

Edric Altraza
This was my very first character, being the one I applied to the server with. Having been born unluckily just before the transition between Aegis and Asulon. Luckily enough, he was born as one of a set of triplets. During the chaos him and his brothers were separated from their parents. These young high elven children made their way to the first piece of civilization they could find; Salvus. Here they encountered their first orc, Bawg the Behemoth. Instead of eating the small children, helpless children he decided to adopt them. So this set Edric up to be quite the impure high elf, growing up in a human city raised by a huge orc.

With his origins out of the way I'll just rattle off some of what he's done and the main points of his life. His first real occupation was as the head of the Solace city guards under Lancel Hightower. That went dismally, though Edric made a warm connection with Lancel through the position. He then became the adopted brother of Tyler Hennigton. He became the head of the guard of Crestfall, that was a failure as well, though he had a wonderful home there. Give it some time and Edric would be one of the first members at the founding of the Crimson Edict. By now he would be the last of his original triplet gang. One of his brothers had an orcish mate though and they conceived a child, a wonderfully hideous half high elven half orcish child. Edric would not see the kid for years until his mysterious nephew would approach him, asking him to join a guild that he was reforming, the Teutonic Order. Edric joined the underground reformation and stuck with it for a long time. He became good friends with the Pascals in Abresi(?), the Order working closely with the guard there. Edric began to interact more with the wide world, making his way to Malinor. He met the high princess Titania, and in one of his most infamous and one of my silliest memories, shot her up with a firing squad of crossbows. Edric and Titania later became friends, though he never mentioned the story. He met Salamandra and grew an interest in learning the art of Earth Evocation. Continuing though, Edric would become a minion of his nephew, whom became a master necromancer and a Gravelord, wanting to do anything for family as it was the only think he thought he had. Edric would be one of the few designers of Kreuzberg, the ugly Teuton keep on the mountain. Through the help of a few mage friends he was able to begin learning Earth Evo. He was one of the very first to venture into the North, taking part in a Teutonic expedition into the antagonist's frozen lands (before they were opened to the public we found a way around the mountains). Kreuzberg was destroyed in a siege and the Order was left in ruin. Eventually papa Mirtok returned and revived the Order once again. Edric joined up as soon as he could and worked his way to the rank of Medic. Through the connection the Azogs had with the Teutonic Order Edric had a slight incorporation with the Azogs, rolling with them from time to time on the side. Eventually the Order's lands were claimed though and Mirtok was carried away form the realm by a mysterious, magical being being, an event only Edric can say he saw. He eventually wandered off into the wilderness and stayed there for countless years (while I was on haitus) and returned recently to begin to rebuild his life.

I've honestly forgotten so much of everything that has happened with this character and I've forgotten so much that has happened on the server, I've forgotten which map is which so this short summery may be slightly out of order, remembered incorrectly and can be missing some events also. Hopefully it isn't terribly written or incredibly boring.
