The fall of a soldier

Nathan Aureon was returning back to Linandria from one of his many trips to Sutica. The crisp, warm air was calm as usual in the dense forests of the Dominion. The soldier marched along the path, like usual, to return to his manor, his seed, his family...

As he walked down the path, he began to feel... odd... He heard rustles in the leaves behind him. A sudden sensation began to wash over him. He felt like he was being watched... He began to move faster down the trail, quickening with every pace. Suddenly, footsteps followed behind him. His brisk pace had turned into a full sprint. The Sirame Armor on his body began to weigh him down, as he continued down the road. His body began to ache and his breaths became irregular. Behind him, he heard the footsteps stop, and a faint noise.

The noise that he heard was a crossbow bolt flying towards him. The bolt was aimed towards his head, and it hit. The impact of the bolt killed him silently and suddenly. His cold, dead body lay undisturbed in the forest for days, until an unsuspecting traveler found the body, and alerted the Sirame in Linandria.

((OOC: I've had an amazing time playing Nathan, but I recently lost all interests in the character, and I would rather not be a part of something that I am not actively contributing to.))

Aelthus Aureon looks upon Nathan with saddened eyes as he joins him in the afterlife. It was too soon for his younger brother to die, but such was fate.

With swift movements, the El'Chirr of the Sirame, one of the founders of the Aureon seeds, makes his way over towards his brother to wrap him in a tight embrace. "You served your people well, and have brought honour to your seed. Nothing more could be asked from a Mali like yourself." He says firmly, releasing his brother from the embrace.

He turns, moving to place an arm on Nathan's shoulder to guide him off. "The rest of us are here... We've missed you, brother. There is much to catch up on."

Khiara stares blankly at the wall in front of her from her seat in front of her desk. She had received word by bird of her Uncle's passing. Tears welled up in the corner of her eyes though she willed them not to. They fell free and rolled down her cheeks, the already broken girl crumbling further.

Her sadness quickly turns to anger and she rises from her seat, kicking it away from her. She whips around, balling an armoured fist and sending it flying into the stone wall, screaming at the top of her lungs the whole time. Anyone within the Adherent Tower would probably hear her. Though it turned out to be a bad choice as only resulted in Khiara breaking her hand...

Artimec saw to it the body was dressed and taken to the same resting spot as the rest of the Seed Aureon, behind the old manor. With the fallen warrior's seedkin and friends gathered, he laid the body down before an ironwood tree. He gripped his druidic staff in both hands, digging it into the earth, closing his eyes and chanting.

“Mother, Green Lady. Springmaiden, Bringer of Birth.

Father, Horned Man, Hunt Lord, Harbinger of Death.

Today we return to you your humble servant,

A warrior of the Aspect's path,

May his body return to the wild, to serve in death as he did in life

May his soul transcend to the Aspect's paradise,

to find eternal rest."

The Archdruid's eyes began to emit a fae-like green glow. From beneath the earth, gnarled roots poured out of the ground, curling around the soldier's corpse and dragging him beneath the dirt. The elves of Aureon proceeded behind him and planted a small ironwood sapling over where Nathan's body now lay.

"That is not dead can eternal lie. And with strange aeons even death may die."
