A pair of men accompany a cart pulled by a mule. Atop the cart, the statue of a kneeling man, his left arm outstretched and a crimson cloth covering apparent damages its face. The mule would come to a halt just before the deep decline of the northern ridge, a winding river below. The pair step about to the back of the cart before climbing atop it. The lesser of the two, a cadet of the 3rd Garrison, slides open the visor of his helm before looking the statue over. A feeling of unease setting over him, he'd nudge his accomplice before speaking out, "Sergeant, sir, do you eh.. Smell that? This THING smells of twice turned cabbage and what in the blighted one's tainted pimply arse are we doing out here? Are we to play ignorant of what lies just beyond the trees?" Unresponsive, the sergeant presses his left shoulder against the statue before cocking his head toward it. He'd speak out in a low strained tone, "Shut the 'ell up an' push. It's not our concern and the sooner we've seen this done, the sooner we can turn in." Grumbling, the cadet places his weight against the statue until it slides off the back of the cart, slams into the edge of the ridge and briefly settles, a little less than half of it over the ledge. Speaking amongst themselves, the two step down from the back of the cart before lazily shoving it over the edge with their heels. After observing its violent descent, the two turn to depart before one turns back to the cliff, as though he'd forgotten something. After a moment of tugging through a bag, he'd withdraw a simple hammer and look to it an extended moment, confusion evident in his demeanor. Shrugging, the man underhands the hammer over the ledge before approaching the cart and returning to Bastion.
