A mention of gratefulness

It'd be around eleven 'o clock in the morning, the grass was still damp and the air was still cool on this promising spring day. A small crowd of soldiers, workers and citizens had gathered in Kaldwin square as the town's new Maer adressed the people.

"Ladies and gentlemen, inhabitants of this beautiful city. I speak to you today to show how thankful I am to y'all. I see that a lot of people here today, most actually, voted for me in the elections of this year. It was a tough campaign, that's certain. I had never expected so many people to run and for this to be such a fight. But we fought through it! Yes, we! An election isn't won by the person running, but by his supporting followers. We fought through it... And look where we have come. I thank you all. A special thanks goes to the ones who helped me campaign. I call out to House Merentel as well as Errmark and our great royal family, the Stauntons. I must also not forget Louis de Felsen and Kayden. They were all of great help and are the ones who helped not only me, but us, to come this far.

And ofcourse I want to give some credit to the other individuals running, they sure put up a fight. I also wish to let my congratulations hear for our new Deputy Maer, Wolf.
Now, I hope that each and every one of you will continue to support my party and it's goals like you have in the recent past. Together, we will make this city great again and will ensure that it thrive and rises to the grandness it deserves. United we stand, devided we fall!

The small group of people would cheer, surely waking up anyone that slept in on this peaceful morning. Gilondir would step off the stage, shaking hands and adressing the enthusiastic Aleksandrians each, wishing them well and thanking them for their support.
