How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: Searching for good roleplay servers. I used to play Massivecraft, but this sounds a lot better. Massivecraft isn’t whitelisted, so the roleplay isn’t always good.

What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying, for me, is similar to acting. The only difference is that you do it for your own entertainment and for the entertainment of those around you. The goal is for it to be fun, and we achieve that by stepping out of the real world and into the role of a fantasy character, who’s  opportunity for adventure is near-limitless. In roleplay, the only limiting factor is our imagination.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using knowledge that your character wouldn’t know to direct your roleplay. It is a form of powergaming because a character shouldn’t be able to act on something they don’t know about.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Roleplaying in a way that is impossible for your character’s persona. Can also be roleplaying for the sole purpose of getting your way or winning a fight.

 

In-Character Information

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

 

Character’s name: Eiiyo  Blaedspyll

Character’s sex: Male

Character’s race: Human, Heartlander

Character’s age: 18

Biography: Eiiyo was born in the Sultanate of Haria to His father, Ozymander, and his mother, Paeshynce Pathos. His parents were both traveling alchemists, who only wanted for their son to become an even greater alchemical master than they were. They brought Eiiyo to Metz in order for him to receive training from educated alchemists. The expense of the training was high, but the Blaedspylls had become a rather affluent family due to their success in their trade.

Growing up in an educational system was rather boring for Eiiyo. As a child, his favorite books were that of adventure and exploration. He aspired to travel the world in search of rare treasures and lost locations. He wished to learn awesome magics and fight vicious beasts. For most, these dreams halt during puberty, as one nears adulthood. The thought of willingly venturing out and possibly getting yourself killed is enough to keep most people at home, but Eiiyo was different. Even his teachers said they saw a fire in his eyes whenever he learned something new or extraordinary. However, during the course of normal classes, Eiiyo could hardly sit still. In another universe, his disability would be known as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. He claimed that if he could only get out of this boring life, he could become the greatest adventurer, but those he told replied telling him that he must first grow up, literally. Only those 18 years or older could be given the necessary permits to partake in such travel or even be taken seriously by anyone they could encounter. So Eiiyo waited, and on his 18th birthday, after a grand ceremony of completion at his school, Eiiyo picked up a bag that he had earlier prepared and, using a effective potion of swiftness, ran off through the night. His parents, unable to catch him, called after him “Where are you going,son?!”

He simply replied “Home!”

 

Personality Traits: Eiiyo is very open-minded to everything except things he can feel to be wrong. However, this is a direct result of him not having much experience of the world. Therefore, the better word to describe him would be naive overall, though good-hearted, intelligent, well-read, and skilled in the art of alchemy.

Ambitions: Eiiyo is young, and so his sense of honor and righteousness isn’t all there. He wants to do good, but he wants to do it in a way that earns him fame and riches. He truly wants to enjoy the fruits of being a successful adventurer. At his current state, he doesn’t quite know where his ambition may take him. Perhaps he will meet people who can guide him. Perhaps he’ll find someone who need his help. Perhaps he’ll end up as a travelling alchemist, just like his parents. As I said, Eiiyo is very open-minded, so he fears none of these possibilities.

Strengths/Talents: Eiiyo is very good at alchemy and at reading books written in human, elvish, and dwarf languages. He actively worked out as an adolescent, so he has become pretty good at moving, and is of slightly above average strength for his age and height. He has a significant intelligence and charisma, so he can often find crafty ways to get out of unfortunate situations or use his charm to persuade people to help him.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Like I said, Eiiyo is very naive, so, in roleplay, he tends to believe people he may have just met, and will look up to any source of guidance or elder judgement, unless he feels that they are holding him back. He is also rather unskilled in combat, though athletic. He is the type who can climb a rock wall but get knocked out in one punch. However, over time, these weaknesses will fade as he experience more, and trains more in combat. His main weaknesses are his soft heart, which can lead him to be deceived by those who use his pity against him. He is also the type to overthink situations, or become too indecisive, which can be a time waster or lead him to make the wrong choices.

Appearance: Eiiyo is 5’11’, thin with toned muscles, and has a childish face that looks cute on his adult body. He has very dark blue hair, sometimes described as black with a blue tint, and  big green eyes that seem to glow at times. He is often seen wearing a hoodie with a satchel over his shoulder, leather pants, and leather shoes. These are clothes he made himself, to be the best attire for his adventures. In his satchel he keeps his potions and books.
