24th of Malin's Welcome, 1584.

“Greatness awaits you.” A voice speaks gently, partially muted as he walks from behind a tree.

A young boys sulks, hunched back at the bank of a river, looking at his reflection on the passing current. The voice is familiar, his head perks up to gaze behind him. “Father?” He speaks almost in disbelief.

The man would crouch beside him, a smooth rock tucked between his forefinger and thumb. A gaze set forward across the stretch of the river. He would relax and flick his arm, launching the rock to skip across the surface of the water. “Elenion.” He would clear his throat, looking to him with a small smile. “Greatness awaits you my son.”

Elenion would look up to him, unfolding his legs and bringing them up to his body as he curled his arms around them. His chin resting atop his knees. “I don't know if I can, I don't know what it means.” He would mutter, the sound childish and muffled by his legs.

“I didn't either son.” He would look smile once more. He would rest a forearm on his thigh as he crouched before him, bringing another arm to drape across Elenion’s shoulders. A hand would grip his arm firmly. “I believe in you because you are my son. Aenor’s grandson. A proud Calithil.”

Elenion would smile softly into his legs, unwrapping his grip to push himself up off the ground. “Thank you Father!” He would light up, bright, full of energy. “Can we go back to the city?” He would ask looking at face level to him.

He would chuckle softly, pushing himself up to full stance with a smile. “Sure.” He would extend his hand before Elenion, palm open. “Come, you have much to learn son.” He would curl his palm around the boys as he brought it up to meet his.

“I love you Father!”

“I love you too.” Kairn said softly.
