Is it possible for a non-shaman to travel to the spirit realm, contact spirits, and request things fromΒ them etc, or is this reserved for Lutaumans and Farseers?

A non-shaman can travel to the spirit realm, contact spirits, and request boons from them, as long as they have a Shaman who is capable of traveling to the respective realms. For instance, you want to talk to your dead Aunt Sally. Lucky for you, your dead Aunt Sally could be in the Ancestral Plane and you would need a Lutauman to visit/contact her. Want to have a chat with a lesser spirit of fire? Go to your local Elementalist (possibly witch doctor) and you'll be on your way. Immortal Spirits? Not a problem! Get in contact with a Farseer or Witch Doctor and they will be able to send you over there - given all these shamansΒ are powerful enough to do so.

In short, yes a non-shaman can travel to the Spirit Realm and contact Spirits but you generally need a Shaman to "make a passageway" for you. There are a few exceptions with events and if a Spirit decides to manifest into the Mortal Realm, etc. Of course, if you do want to role-play with a Spirit, you need an MT/LM, or an ET who is given permission to play them (I doubt this applies to Ancestral Spirits, unless you need an MT/LM to oversee it). Superstition role-play is also very fun!

TL;DR I don't know what I can do with spirits and I'm spooked because big scary MTs mightΒ chase me down

I've made a bunch of things about what non-shamans canΒ do with the orcs, and though some are iterative, I'm rather sure something will appeal to you. Also. IΒ don't sleep. PM me if you want toΒ do something, all the other MT suck.

I've written something about offering blood for wisdom as well, though cannot find it.

Shamanism has always been an orc first magic to be, regardless of whatever flak or bias I may receive from it. Though Hellfiaz gaveΒ dark elves lutaumancy, I still would like to think all of the forms have been locked to essentially the orcs.

In reference to many archived Shamanism posts, Krug is considered the Old Father of Shamanism meaning that he was the first to bring teachings of the Spirits and from many old and reknown players have said that Farseer and Latauman are a crucial part of Orc Roleplay as Farseers guide the Orcs through Spiritual empowerment.

Essentially. If you want shamanism more used by the orcs, RP it. The rework will beΒ done shortly, and those who actually put themselves forward to roleplay their interactions and characterΒ development with the spirits will find themselves with shamanism. I'd gladlyΒ do events for those seeking interactions with the spirits as well. Simply PM me your idea or what spirit you'd like toΒ discuss with.Β

Reading past archived posts about Shamanism, i'd like you to consider the following as it would be convenient and canon since currently there are only 1 source of self-teaching Farseeing from the Or'Gok scrolls. This way it could prevent any future problems that might resurface as it has recently.
