Leydluk

The night was sullen, the air cool, and the rustle of leaves percussed its counterparts. Kuntklobbera sat within his chambers, a mug of grog within the curling grasp of his bloody-red digits, a smouldering blunt between his fingers. Submerging his mind that night was zeal, and in hand with it was its best friend wroth- it played with his synapses and tantalized his thoughts, but also contorted them into things he had failed to achieve. It frustrated him... to the point of fatigue- to the point that his eyes drooped, his form slumped and he sunk deep into the tranquil ocean of slumber.

“Broshan fiimûrz uruk.”

The intrusive cracks of firelight pried open his eyelids and momentarily blinded him.

He sat up, confused… confused at the origin of the voice, but he eventually equated it to some ilk of lucid dream or envisionment inflicted by the strong green he was smoking. But as he raised the conical joint to his lips once more, he noticed the sweet pungency of green had been replaced with a foul acridity.

He repulsed.

“What the ****.” Was all he managed, holding his mouth aloof, intent on yelling a swathe of derogatory slurs at either one of his keshig, or a gobo man-servant. But he couldn't… for the fetor had seeped free from its receptacle and was growing exponentially. It was choking now… choking him, growing in size and shape, sculpted by the air. Its supple digits tore down the walls of his chamber until only nothingness and the ashen cloud thronged him.

“Fiimurz uruk.”

The voice bellowed. The cloud lashed out at him, curling its tentacular, supple appendages around his reddened form. It took the appearance of a fist and tightened its clasp around him. He was encased within a supple prison.

“Do not despair, fiimurz durub. The time of your matûrz fulam is yet to come, and with my aid no less. But do not forget your devotion to me, Kuntklobbera. The blood sacrifices and ears of elves or whatever else you scrounge up with those mortal hands of yours are in short supply, and it is most dissatisfying. Especially when I grant you such GREAT power.”

A smaller ball of smoke fell free from the former and pulled from Kuntklobbera’s belt an axe of crude craftsmanship. The etchings upon its red-ashen surface- notably of old blah -pulsated gently.

“You wouldn't want me to take this away now, would you?

I didn’t think so.”

The smoke began to dissipate, but before it did, it spoke once more:

“Expand my reaches, uruk…

And, whose bright idea was it to name you Kuntklobbera? From now on you’re Leydluk. I think that is a most fitting name.”

The smoke disappeared and Kuntklobbera was plunged into darkness…

Spoiler

He awoke thereafter, hands aching as if from toil, lips cracked and dried… but a word was wet on his tongue:

Leydluk.

The crimson Keshigboss sat in his muddy home, when a petty snaga delivered the news. "This is hosh. Our crimson palm will tighten around the enemies of the Warnation."
