“Silence through words, spoken in action.”

Origination

The origins of the Company of Eshænvurd may be found long and bloody - discerned by many as a bastion of honour, integrity, and dignity. The Company has always held honour as the liege levy of de Savoie, and as to serve Savoy mounted atop warhorse, accompanying lance and flying banner. Humbled nature of discipline, since the era of Olivier de Savoie these men have since been ennobled as the pinnacle of Savoy in their code and tenets.

Following the death of Jon Renault, Guillaume de Savoie was bequeathed with the arduous task of reviving the legacy of his ancestors. Burdened by the weight of such a feat, he took to Ulmsbottom by boat and buried the ashes of his elder brother upon the earth ‘neath Ashford.’ Taking but one man of his home who was willing to follow him, Riccardo de Chatil, he set sail once more to the realms of Man, determined to set fire once more unto the Savoyard ambition.

Exemplary loyalty and servitude. Every shield bearing the Ashen sun adorned upon the backs of the ranking men; vigilance selflessly pledged in life and death to House Ashford de Savoie.

For the betterment of humanity and Savoy, shall all Companymen serve honorably.

The Eshæn Tenets

The Eshæn Company is one of honour, humility, and dignity. Holding tradition amongst one of the longest lines in Orenian history, these men are seen as the representation of all that Savoie has embodied throughout time.

By virtue of a strong sword of Ashford, each soldier is endowed with the responsibility and prowess of the Ashen sun. May they live by a code, and through these tenets do they serve in life and in death.

The Code of Honour: There is duty, and there is honour. Every sworn man of the Company is seen as honorable - to displace that honour is to commit treason of the highest amount.

The Code of Humility: Pompous bigots are what many an Order have fallen to in the past of Orenian history. Every man of the Company is expected to behave with humility and grace.

The Code of Dignity: Men of the Company never bow to an enemy, and would be expected to die rather than throw themselves at the mercy of their opponent.

The Chevalier

Servitude of Prominence

The few select Company Men of Esheveurd, forever taken into consideration the respect of the ancient within the realm of cavalry, in practice and tradition. Using armor alike that of the old Kingdoms, fashioning themselves scale dresses for their horses. These specialists are feared, and such a position is often reserved to only those most loyal to the Ashford Sun.

One may serve in such the specialized unit upon achievement of the rank of Vandalier, in which they honour their tenants in service to Savoy. Although, being a unit of such integrity and duty, bestowed with only the highest honour within the Company - each man is to be specifically selected by the Grand Warden of the Chevalier, and often recommended by the Eshaen Commandant himself.

Salerne

The men of the company reside within the halls of Salerne, a large castle set upon the eastern foot of Tahn. A strong, new fortification lifted by the master architects of Savoy, it houses not only the military, but the working hands of Savoy as well, surrounded by the fertile farms that edge the County of Savoie. It has a direct travel route to the Heartland of Adelburg, in the Crown land of Oren itself.

Mighty an imposing, Salerne stands as the last stronghold of Savoyard forces in Axios, a bastion for the men and women of the Ashford Sun, and GOD himself.
