Of Ice Constructs and Witches; a Recent Discovery

[!] Various stacks of parchment can be seen scattered about Axios, detailing a new form of Construct

______________________________________________________________________________

Good day. As of late, your author has discovered a rather disturbing new construct. Many folk are familiar of Frost Witches; scornful women sworn to a curse of ice and the consumption of male flesh to survive who are capable of great feats of supernatural seduction and disguise. What if your author was to tell you of a construct created by these foul creatures; a creature capable of uncanny manipulation over water and cold, of hulking proportions, and so forth? I first encountered one of these creatures in Adelburg making small talk with an armored human. Her appearance was of a 7ft statue of ice shaped as an athletic Elfski maiden, so therefore some eyebrows were to be raised. The human asked various questions of her origins, and she said that she was not a more advanced variation of a Frost Witch. I grew disinterested at the small talk, and therefore I left.

I encountered the construct later on, engaging in combat with the same human. She fled the scene, and I followed. I struck her with a funnel of Voidal fire I casted, melting a good deal of her mass as I continued.

She set up a cloud of snow, which I melted. She then leaped into the pond. I attempted to increase the temperature of the water using Transmutation, yet she displayed an uncanny amount of mastery over the water, and so I left.  Let’s break this down with what we can deduce from these interactions, coupled with what we already know about the many magical creatures that dwell in this world. She is clearly not an actual Frost Witch. The woman herself denied this. Also, her height was about 7ft. Even most High Elves cannot reach that height on average, much less a female. Her appearance is obviously quite mind-boggling. Whilst a Frost Witch’s true appearance does indeed have characteristics with ice, the resemblance is not strong enough to be an actual statue of ice. Now that we have that ludicrous idea out of the way; perhaps she is an Arcane Atronach of sorts. Atronachs have protective plates to shield their flow of mana. This woman did not have those protective plates beyond a simple metal plate strapped to her chest (Which shall be explained later).

Also, it should be noted that once the woman dived into the pond, she manipulated the temperature of the pond. Atronachs cannot do this; they can only utilize the summoned material that their core produces once it has been materialized. A Fire Atronach does not actually control natural fire around them, they control the Voidal fire that their core produces. No, this woman was unmistakably a construct created by the Ice Demons. It is quite self-evident by her appearance as a perfectly constructed statue of ice shaped as a woman, not to mention the unusual traits and abilities that separated her from other creatures.

Let’s take a look at her other characteristics. I managed to recover some of her melted ice, which was not magical whatsoever after some tests I ran on the water. This gives me the idea that her body is merely water that she collects, which in turn becomes ice to form the woman’s body. I did notice a metal plate protecting her heart, however. I theorize that these constructs’ weak points are their hearts, given the fact her entire body was completely exposed, save her heart. The heart for a Frost Witch’s construct is akin to the core of a Golem or an Atronach if I am correct.

This is all your author has managed to figure out so far. Be safe, for the Ice Witches may use this new construct to collect male flesh. I shall not reveal my identity, in fear of the Frost Witches forming attempts on my life.

((Me and SentinelPlatinum had a little bit of an RP encounter, my Wizard against her Ivojur. It was a rewarding fight, and I am glad it worked smoothly. This is basically my character’s deductions and observations on what she may possibly be based on pure logic and prior knowledge on creature lore. If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask SentinelPlatinum!

"Jeska. Ituri. Sif. Which one of you is it?"

a paladin muttered as he gripped the flyer with stressing mailed fingers,

"-no worries, I will kill you all."

"Oh so shocking." a qalasheen would groan. "If they don't bother you don't bother them, it's common sense."

Sif divines the wistful whispers of a stalker she's already fucked up at least once, swearing his body had been metabolized years ago after a very similar comment, then reading through the poster.

The husked creature rolls her shoulders as she grasps at the sheet. A deep resonant sigh escapes her carapace.

"Please, Mister Pseudo-Scientist. My creations are far too complex for you to comprehend with your simple arcanic babbling. I'd be happy to explain the innerworkings of the maidens of ice, alas, you were too scared to leave your name..." With her monologue clearly spoken for the world to hear, the hulk of eldritch ice turned away, wandering off to once again completely disregard the anti-witch folks that never actually dared to do anything besides loudly complain.
